Which is the most beneficial for you? I'm kind of confused. I'm not sure of the difference between them.
My goal is I want to lose some bodyfat and I've heard that one (or both) of those oils can really help move things along...and benefit alot of other things like your skin, heart, lower cholesterol, etc...
Can someone gimme a rundown?

They both have omega fatty acids............................so it really doesnt matter which one you go with.
If you want to learn more go to bodybuilding.com and look up fish and flaxseed oil on their site page.

There's a big difference between the two. The Omega-3 fatty acid chain goes: ALA > EPA > DHA
Flax Seed Oil is ALA. Your body still has to convert it to EPA and DHA. The conversion rate is usually no higher than 7%, maybe lower depending on the human. Flax Seed Oil is still a good supplement to take, but not for Omega-3's. In fact, it also contains Omega-6, which inhibits the absorption of Omega-3's. Most people already have enough Omega-6 in their diets. O-3 to O-6 ratio should be 2:1.
Fish Oil contains both EPA and DHA. I recommend Nordic Naturals fish oil which is free of metals and toxins.

Well, I ended up copping some Platinum Naturals Omega Pure Fish Oil capsules. 90 1000mg caps for 12 bucks. The guy said the epa and dha wasn't as high as some of the other brands but if I'll take like 3-4 a day I'll be good.

i gotta get back into these badboys.
I'm sure both are superb in effect, but is there a particular format in omega 3 (i.e. pill, powder, gelcap, etc.) that is better than the other?
Need to learn more fish recipes as well. I love seafood but just not a seasoned vet in the kitchen when it comes to whipping a nice dish with fish. Boy, don't I wish...

clam sauce, yum. i ate some great ravioli with homemade puttanesca recently.. and i'm a sucker for vodka myself.. the sauce, that is... vodka sauce for pasta, i mean.. :D
i do alot of seafood stuff.. shrimp salad, salmon mousse, glazed salmon skewers with pineapple chunks.. in terms of herbs w/ seafood, i'm a HUGE fan of dillweed, esp w/ fish... as well as capers, and of course lemons, olive oil, and all that jazz.
it's super easy to whip up stuff like wasabi mayo, honey sesame glaze, mango chutney, etc., to eat on fish or marinate it in.. it sounds so much fancier than it is to make.. IMO
and what i really want to try homemade sushi, but i'm not sure about procuring FRESH fish in indiana.. it's definitely something i wouldn't want to mess around with in terms of guessing on freshness and safeness.

i have some fish oil in capsules, but im trying to eat more fish in my diet... i love seafood also, but am trying to get away from some of the shellfish and into more fish.
i hate canned tuna, i cant eat it. but throw some on the grill, and you should be set. same thing with swordfish. if your not into the taste that much, marinate it, or throw something on top of it. mango salsa is dope with both of them. if you can find sashimi grade fish, you can eat it raw (if you got a good fresh spot) or sear it, so it still has the similar texture...
you can also "cook" some of this stuff ceviche ("cooking" with citrus, or even using rock salt)
and yes, dill is dope with fish. there is also a mustard/dill sauce that is amazing. you can sometimes find it canned, but you can make it pretty easily...
i make my own sushi all the time. its honestly not hard, but make sure what your getting is fresh. i can rarely find good sashimi fish, or if i do, its stupid expensive. i used smoked salmon alot (and if you have company, people arent as scared of smoked salmon as raw fish)
damn... after all this talk im about to whip up some seafood al diablo...

*impressed*
for some reason i would have a hard time trusting even sashimi fish in a market here.. i've heard salmon is especially dangerous/tricky to get at a safe grade.. and let's face it, in indiana there isn't exactly any water, fresh or salt, that is close by.. i may be trying some new tuna dishes soon, though..

yea its tough... im from ny and had some great spots around... now being in ct, im still close enough to the coast, but i havent found any good mongers around. i can find great shellfish though. and ask the people behind the seafood counter. if they dont know sh!t, dont trust em... if they can tell you 50 ways to prepare something, chances are these people know what their talkin about and will steer you in the right direction (and also know where things came from, when they were caught, etc.) and ill only buy sushi from a place if there is an actual asian cat sitting in front of me making it.
and the rule of thumb, in case people didnt know... smell it. if it smells fishy, its been there for awhile. if you pick some up and it turns out to smell like that, get some buttermilk, and let it soak in there for some time. the buttermilk takes away the "fishiness." as far as things like shellfish... id stay away from it if it wasnt packaged that day, or frozen. ive noticed sometimes lookin around ill find some crab for a great price, then smell it and its starting to smell like ammonia <------bad
honestly, ive never really been worried about getting sick. i feel that im healthy enough and my immune system will take care of any potential problems.
check that ceviche preparation tho. i tend to find i like the texture of raw fish better than cooked (for the most part) couple weeks ago i had some oysters/bay scallops like that... good stuff. (aphrodisiac what?)
