most of the lead singers CANNOT sing for sh!t and they getting props like they could. they are just as bad as the house singers and sh!t. there's only two groups i heard so far where the lead singers actually can hit notes (fall out boy and incubus). the other ones i heard the mofo singing can't sing for sh!t and folks be like "yo, those guys can sing." mofos might as well find a lead singer and sh!t but naw, it gotta be the dude that write the lyrics even though he sound annoying, terrible as sh!t.

i was listening to coldplay like some days ago in the morning and my ears was ringing for real. they got some good sh!t BUT chris martin can't sing for sh!t. before i could listen to the sh!t and not think much of it, but now i'm like... :weirdo:

Fall Out Boy is god awful! Patrick Stump is not a talented vocalist.

If your looking for a great band with an amazing lead singer invest in some Muse. Their best albums are 1). Origin of Symmetry and 2). Black Holes and Revelations. In that order. Matthew Bellamy has the best vocals in rock today. Great band.

and most of those motherf*ckers can't sing for sh1t. sorry man. freddy mercury and amy lee are like the only mofos that i know from that list i think can sing. all the rest of those motherf*ckers i don't know and the ones i know from that list can't SING for sh!t. either muffling sounding, mofos trying way too hard or they just ain't singers.

still though, half of them rock stars be getting props on that vocal sh!t like they killing it when they be damaging my ears yo. i ain't saying dude from fall out boy is like the best singer or great or whatever and same thing for amy lee, brandon boyd and freddy merc BUT they can sing. it ain't even about how good they sound, most rock bands have some mofos that can't sing and they all could sing.

Everyone I posted CAN sing, your crazy if you don't think so. Now we're not comparing them to soul singers, but on rock standards they can. Fall Out Boy is not rock, sorry to break your heart.

Outside of Jeff Buckley and Bowie most of my favorite singers aren't traditionally talented singers but they're still better than a perfect singer who has no soul (Whitney, Celine Dion).

Yes Whitney is black, no she doesn't sing soulfully. She sings well, damn near perfectly, but she ain't touching soulful.

you're the first person ive ever heard say this...

well i guess u need to listen to some more of her music.

check out her debut, the bodyguard sdtk and the preachers wife for her more soulful stuff....and im sure you've heard her rendition of the national anthem:yes: .

The NAtional Anthem is probably the only thing I personally consider soulful by her. I think she's a great technical singer, far better than a Celine Dion or whatnot, but as far as soul she's not Mary J. or Aretha.

well mary and aretha are in a class of their own when talking about souldful. but whitney can definitely hold her own

the reason why i believe you're saying whiteney isnt soulful is because of the types of songs she sings (ballads just like celine). her songs arent as emotional as mary's or areta so they dont require her to be soulful most of the times.

but she does have some soulfull material in her discography to prove that she can hang with mary, aretha, warrick, anita (my favorite) kelly price or whoever in the soulful category...

They're one of those safe bands that it's ok to listen to if you mostly listen to hip-hop. I don't understand how they've gotten away with releasing the same record over and over.

You can add Coldplay to the list of 'safe bands'. If you listen to anything other than these two (maybe one or two other bands) it's 'not hip-hop'. Fukk that though, there's so much sh!t to appreciate apart from these two repetitive bands.

I've heard this before. Exactly what is the correlation between Coldplay and hip-hop that makes it ok to listen to them if you mostly listen to hip-hop (other than the fact that Chris Martin and Hov are friends?)

Ridiculously classic album. "I'm Every Woman", "Jesus Loves Me", "Queen of the Night"....forget about it.

I don't really get the Coldplay/hip-hop relationship either. Coldplay is a safe band in general. Bands that are typically acceptable for hip-hop heads to listen to are like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana, Rage Against the Machine, and Guns N Roses. How this happened I don't know.

funny cuz i used to listen to strictly hip hop.. then rhcp, coldplay, and incubus were the first rock backds that i could ever get into, and kinda opened the doors for me

hence to say i listen to these bands pretty inferquently now. rhcp is almost like dipset in terms of making nonsensical songs

there's no real connection musically but the fact is coldplay is pop/rock and easy to listen to...

just like em, jay, luda are easy hiphop for rock fans to listen to...

I'm sure they're great to break into rock, but anyone who hears the best rock on hand won't actually go back to those three bands.

Maybe not on their first album because the vocals were recorded badly. His voice sounds great on Paranoid though.

Well a lot of people I know from The Bronx and Queens listen to Maroon 5, RHCP, Linkin Park, Panic at the Disco and Coldplay I always found those to be the favorites the younger Hip Hop fans. And even a few older people as well (over 25).

And Incubus>RHCP>Coldplay. u bugging if u think otherwise.
