He doesn't get as much love as Marv or Curtis but I enjoy his music just as much if not more. Pieces Of A Man is one of my favorite albums ever. His influence is undenible, especially amongst hip hop. There would probably be no Chuck D if it wasn't for him.

Yes, he definitely had a great influence on Hip Hop as well as his teachers, The Last Poets. Some of my favorite tunes are, "Pieces of a Man", "Did You Hear What They Said", "The Bottle", "Save The Children", "H20 Gate Blues", "The Vulture", "Home Is Where The Hatred Is" and of course "The Revolution..." (both versions). His stuff with Brian Jackson deserves to be mentioned with the greatest R&B every recorded.

Amazing and revolutionary artist and poet...Home Is Where the Hatred Is and Did You Hear What They Said are among my favorite songs ever. He has a ton of great stuff though...'Glory' is a dope collection of some of his best work and C/S to whoever mentioned Pieces of a Man; incredible album. Ive sampled him a lot too, his musical sound is perfect for sampling.
