Im at 210 right now, my goal is to get to 225 then Im going to cut. I was hooping the other day and I embarassed myself so I decided to go work on my game. I was in an empty gym, i tried to warm up with suicides and I couldnt even do one. I started shooting around and i was winded in 5 mins. I felt like a bytch so I said fukk it, went down stairs and did 25 mins of cardio. I felt great afterwards

What should I do. I wanna keep puttiing on weight, but my basketball game is suffering a little bit. I know one of yall will have some good advice

The more you weigh, the more your heart has to work, generally speaking. Usually increasing to that weight level is not the optimum weight for most people. In other words, your body wants to be a certain weight, but you are pushing yourself to gain these extra pounds and that is essentially putting stress on your respiratory system. I suggest that you do not force yourself to gain too much weight. As a matter of fact, I would focus on improving your cardiovascular health first.

that makes sense. what if i want to be big though? i dont think im supposed to be big, as a high school senior i was 6'1 170-175. Ive gained like 30 lbs in the past 2 years. I wanna get to 225, then cut down to 205 or 200 and be ripped but look big. Do i need to increase my weight slower or something?

Keep an endurance log and up the time 10% each week to safely but slowly increase your stamina. I say this so easily, but what I really need to do is actually do it.

Bahahaha! He's a good 25 lbs less than when you probably saw him last. I gotta get him to start lifting again.

Don't get too big, all the boys want to do this, and it ruins their handsomness. They look funny with massive upper bodies and itty bitty chicken legs.

You can still slowly increase your cardio without losing mass as long as you step up your healthy calorie intake MORE and don't cardio on lift days.

You want to bulk and look massive. OK, that is your goal. What I am trying to point out is why gain more weight when you obviously are not in good shape? Do you think 15 more pounds is going to do any good to your fitness level?

Work on improving your respiratory condition, but also keep doing resistance training. Do not fixate on weight, but focus on your fitness level. If you can run 3 miles in under 22 minutes, you are in solid fitness condition. Use that has a reference point. Measure your heart rate immediately after your cardio workout (if you do not have an apparatus with real-time display of your heart rate), rest completely and breath slowly, and measure again in no more than 3 minutes. If you heart rate decreases by 66 beats per minute or more (there are studies on this number), then your heart is good. If it still lingers at a fairly high rate, then your heart is working too hard and you still have much work to do.

After you are at a good fitness level, then worry about bulking. If I was a trainer, I would tell all my clients that. Health takes precedence over looks any day. Do not get me wrong, muscles have a lot of functions in the body, so it's great to have a good amount of.

Put on the weight first then work it off.
I feel you. I was bulking for a minute for muscle and it was hurting my ball game cuz I havent hooped in a minute. Starting this February Im gonna start cutting.

Make sure the weight youre gaining is mostly muscle and not fat.

Thanks for the help yall. Im gonna start cutting on Jan 3rd so I can beast in I.M league.
