If money is not an issue, then I'd say go for it. But research all the trainers before hand. It's almost like going to a doctor without know their reputation and if they are even legitimate.

What certification do they have? Or do they even have a certification? Some gyms hire trainers that are working on certifications and are limited in knowledge and experience. If you are going to spend $60/hr or more, you might as well spend it right.
Ask the management who has a ISSA or NASM certification, which seems to be the better certifications. There are other good ones as well, but to me, that seems to be the most respected ones. If the NBA and NFL prefer those trainers, then I think you should.

Here in NYC, it basically starts at $55/hr. In other places it probably is as cheap as $40/hr.

probably the Reebok Sports gym. Members spend something like $300++ a month. They have everything from gourmet organic foods, a sun deck to a monster wall to climb various levels to the best of the best trainers. I can only imagine what they charge for personal attention.

You should get a personal trainer if you can afford it. I got one after about a 6 months of working out, thinking I was doing something but not losimg any wieght. I go with him he showed me exactly what I was doing wrong, how to correct it, and what excercises would maximize my time. Two months later, after doing it his way, I dropped 20 pounds and had my chest stickin out like Captian Caveman. Unga bunga.:king:

I have a kick boxing lady that I work with 3 times a week. She's not really expensive to work with about 30/hr...not too bad.

I think it might be worth it to pay for 1-3 sessions just to see what they'd recommend for you...then you can take that info & incorporate it into your own workouts.
the only experience I had with a personal trainer was some sick dude a few years ago who offered me a discount rate on some "you do me a favor & I'll do you a favor"...I can't remember the exact amount, but I know he was charging over $1,000 for a few months time.

What are you looking for in a personal trainer? Someone to lead and discipline every training session with you or someone you do periodic check ins and get advise on taking it up a little at a time?
I have a membership at 24 hour fitness and they offer 5 personal training sessions for around $50 bucks now. It's a "lose 15lbs in 6weeks challenge" but they advise on any fitness goal. You also get nutritional, body fat, habits, etc. evaluated and get a personalized plan. I researched for my trainer by word of mouth and is the main reason I picked 24 hour fitness.
