Folks:
I don't usually post in here, but since I'm back to getting the workouts going, I'd like to know the best way to burn off fat. Folks at the gym say I should stick to cardio stuff (treadmill, stationary bike, elliptical machine). But I'd like to know if there's any other ways you guys/gals have gone about dropping the pounds.
Let me know. Thanks.

Personally ,i eat those Health Choice Dinners ,and try and run 3 miles a day ,but at a fast pace. When i was a little out of shape ,i would start off running 1 mile ,then build my conditioning up to the point where i could run 3 miles ,but at a fast pace. Plus i eat the Low fat dinners.
I dont run the treadmill,i get out on the streets like Rocky. LOL

The absolute and I mean absolute best way to shed fat off quickly and easily is a mix of HIT cardio training (look it up) and low carb dieting. I swear by this shyt, when I was a fat ass I started doing my HIT every morning with my low carb keto diet and I went from 235 to 160 before I knew it. But I lost too much weight so I started clean bulking it back up now i'm closer to 200 with some muscle. When February hits I will be back to low carbs and HIT. But be warned HIT training is hard as fukk and your gonna feel like your about to die. But hey all in the love of getting my genitals licked by females just because I have a hot bod.

I can take the fat jokes now. If I was a kid and this was the schoolyard, that's yo' a$$! :hmm:
But on the real, I don't do much fast food as it is. I only went to Burger King last week (for chicken tenders) and it was the first time in like three months that I had been to a fast food joint outside of a Dunkin' Donuts. (And I'm laying off those mostly.)
I know I have to stop with the cookies. And I'm drinking a lot more water (regular and flavored) now and have cut back severely on the soda and fruit juices (except orange juice when I'm not feeling good and grapefruit juice when I go low-carb). I did a low-carb diet before (all meats, green veggies, eggs and grapefruit juice, next to NO carbs except for one day every two weeks) and dropped a lot of weight. But when you go to the bathroom.....:guilty: Make sure you got a scented candle or some spray in there.
And sorry, I'm using the treadmill. I'm paying to go to the gym. I be damned if I let that money go to waste. Besides, I like to be there so I can do some weight stuff when I can get to it.
Thanks for the advice. Keep it comin', though.

My knees are horrible. And I'd be out of breath by the first ten times down the court. Besides, I like working out on my own or with just one other person.

No problem, m'lady. I used to play some ball during and immediately after college. (Sometimes just shooting by myself or the occasional 3-on-3). But with my Earl Campbell-esque (not really) knees, I'd rather do some for-self activity at this point. Besides, I don't think any team's gonna pick me, anyway. ("Stocky" guys with no hops rarely see the ball much.)
I've heard swimming is cool, too. Doesn't strain your muscles at all.

dunno if ur a drinker Mel, but if you are, stop.
I was a happy and frequent beer drinker til about 6 or 7 weeks ago. About 5 weeks ago I started running (very slowly) 3-4 times a week. To date I think I've lost about 7 lbs. I'm not entirely sure of the # b/c I dont have access to a good scale, but can see the difference on my body and it feels good.
I was counting calories for a minute and using sparkpeople.com to track them until, well, thanksgiving happened :guilty: and I put that on the back burner; but the site did show me some places where I could improve my diet and I try to keep that in mind when I eat.
Basically, I think running is one of the fastest ways to drop weight, if ur body can take it. That plus cutting out the emptiest of calories (alcohol, soda, sugar, etc) is a huge step towards getting fit imo
Now if I could just get over this whole :smoker: / munchies thing I'd be eligible for full membership in the Fitness Forum hehe

Nah. I'm very much a social drinker. Don't drink that much at all. And I don't smoke anything.
And I work out at the gym on the tread slowly. Light jogging. Maybe once in a while I'll do some heavy runs. I think I just have to get there more. My goal is to make it there at least three times a week. The job got me tonight and I couldn't make it.

I've been committing to one particular workout lately...
Although I feel somewhat better... only one hand is actually getting the bulk of the exercise. Hee hee hee.
Nah, but for real though.
I still drink as much as i want to, but only and only on the weekends. Consume all the hard liquor i want, but absolultey little to no beer (the hops, barley and wheat in brewskis can really hinder your ability to burn those excess carbs which are a tad more detrimental to your workout regimen/overall diet than then dead calories in hard a).
That's just from my personal experience because i would go on a strictly beer cycle and workout... then to a strictly liquor then workout activity: liquor is better in the short run (but longterm speak is another story, your liver are precious organs one must try to maintain in pository health mode.
And with that out of the way... to answer the initial question at hand?
Diet and exercise. Cliche as it may be, for aesthetically appealing/shaplier obliques and definely-firmed butt cheeks... it's real speak.
Now check the fact sheet, Tariq:
With cardio somewhat being out of the question for you and you not enjoying stationary machines (your knees suck for any form of strenuous activity, ruling out most sports that will be effective in your training... we're gonna have to get a little "grandma" on you now).
Do what i do and take ZANTREX-3.
2 pills in the mid-morning and 2 in the mid afternoon (reduce to one if you're just chilling at home). Each ingesting session should be complimented with a meal as it is activated by food.
For 20 bucks, you get 84 capsules. I haven't received any side effects and i'm shedding pounds like my daps were losing hair (that line will take a few for some to register).
All in all, it's an awesome method to cheat (or enhance a workout routine you're already on and speed up the cellulite-depleting process).
You're metabolism will generate much faster than normal and you'll typically have a fuller-feeling as well (so not only are you gaining energy, raising metabolism levels... but you're also eating less... all with no side effects nor is it ephedrine-laced).
But it is important for you to hit the cardio though (diet and Jesus ain't gonna cut it). Throw in some Zantrex, mix in a healthy dosage of heart-pumping activities and you've got yourself the ultimate recipe for a tastey bod in no time.
Worser comes to worstest... WALK EVERYWHERE THEN!! Leave the whip at home and commute with your stomping units.
Walk to work, walk to the grocery store, walk to your girls pad, walk to the mall, walk to the bathroom and back to your room a dozen times before actually doing the deed and stay mobile.
I'm giving it to you as well as i can, playa. Considering all methods of weight-loss routes and alternative directions alike, this should be the posts of all posts to aid you in finding destination: FIT. So by the end your journey, you still find yourself lost in the road of constant fatigue, highway of overwhelming lethargy and into the ditch of purchasing larger Old Navy sweaters to mask your man-boobs...
Look, you can't get lost. With the aforementioned criterium, it's a surefire, guaranteed program to help you excel in having your flexing chest swelled and your abdomen looking like it's packing bricks.
So master it.

eat alot of fruit, use the stepper machine at the gym, train with weights. Like 15-20 pound ankle weights and 20 pound arm weights. You will sweat alot and begin to burn fat faster.

elle, that's been my prob too. I have now relegated beer drinking to football Sundays only, and an occasional midweek night when I do a comedy show. The brew is a killer on your stomach/love handles.

Actually lifting weights is the best choice.... when you do cardio you burn calories.... but you also burn calories lifting weights..... However after lifting weights your muscles have to rebuild and this process takes energy (calories) so you will be burning calories up to 24 hours after you initial weight lifting session..... Also lifting weights will help you tone up and what not.... But no work out will burn more fat then another.... it all comes down to you burning more calories in the day then you eat.....

real talk. also, overtime, the muscle will eventually cannabalize the fat.
So
1. - Nighttime weight lifting
2. - Morning HIIT cardio
3. - Calorie/Carb Cycling
[sample]
1000 calories less than 30 carbs -Day One
1500 calories less than 75 carbs - Day Two
Same as Day One - Day Three
2000 calories less than 150 carbs -Day Four
(Repeat, except for the hi carb day this time, you go wild and eat around 300 carbs)
4. - Yoga
5. - Yerba Mate Tea
My friend did alll of this and lost 125 pounds of fat, and gained 50 pounds of muscle all in 4 months.(He was 350 before starting)
Till this day, he's still losing weight and gaining muscle.
The Cal/Carb cycling works really well, it shocks your metabolism like a mafukka.

For me running, lifting, cutting back on eating bullshyt foods helped me cut a lot. I lost 20 in about two months. I'm still running, playing ball, lifting weights, my biggest problem is still my drinking. If I stopped drinking so much alcohol I could really be losing now.
