View Full Version : Delicate State Of Denial

Looking for love in the wrong places, fell into it under false pretences.
Constantly denying the denial that you were just passing the time.
Trying to cling to you; forgetting my morals; breaking the rules.
Couldn't realize that I was turning into another sad case.
Never thought I'd become just another casualty; another tick mark on your d***.
How could I have been so petty; no one to blame but myself; no one to lash out at.
Can’t get mad at you for what I consented to.
Just wish it could have meant more than just another fling; another one night stand.
Can’t say it wasn’t an attempt at reconciliation.
Our actions seemed better than words at the time.
Afraid that speaking might just end it faster; like word vomit; quick, messy, chunky, sickly and relieving to get through.
So we sat in silence and let our motions feed off of our emotions, not wanting to ruin the moment in this delicate state of denial.

Thanks. They say actions speak louder than words, but it's the words that lead us to take action. It only takes one big mistake to get us to do it right from then on.
