I did it, it's a good cleanse and you'll lose some weight also. You feel great and have increased energy afterwards. After you get past it in your mind that you're not eating food, it's all good because you don't actually really get hungry during the whole thing.

It's actually a cleanse to remove toxins & other crap from the body. You will lose weight as a result, but the drink is very nourishing. You won't lose any muscle tissue or anything like that.

You mean if you just want to drink the lemonade as a part of everday life? Yeah you can do that, but you can't eat during the cleanse of course.

After the cleanse you will actually have a desire to eat healthy things, like fruits and veggies. If have a mindset to change your bad eating habits, it will help you do that. If you want to go back to bad eating habits, then of course you will gain the weight back.

Naw, it actually tastes pretty good. You will do a salt water flush every morning and have to go about an hour later. After the morning crap you don't really have to go no other times. You will be on the toilet for like 15-30mins though

Did it three times in the past four years, I really love it. Posted a lot about it on sohh too... dont have any links tho.... One important thing to know is that it is NOT a weight-loss plan, tho weight loss may be a happy side-effect, dont count on it. Lots of ppl are of the opinion that that is doing it for the wrong reason.

The Master Cleanse is intense. It is no walk in the park. I feel the need to prepare mentally before and work hard to maintain that focus during and after. Few things I found helpful:

-- Prepare in advance by reading the book (http://www.amazon.com/Master-Cleanser-Stanley-Burroughs/dp/0963926209) -- most of it is in various places online, but it's nice to have the booklet as a reference

-- Be eating and living healthy before you jump into it, the longer the better. The more toxic you are, the more painful it can be. I've had some pretty serious "cleansing episodes" several days into the fast (major muscle aches, also at one point fever-type symptoms and dry heaving). I attribute those mostly to not being as healthy and fit as I could have been when I started.

-- Clear your calendar as much as possible during and immediately after the fast. You CAN work & exercise and all that, but it's nicer to rest, bathe, meditate, go for a walk, do something creative etc

-- Keep a journal while ur fasting. It passes the time when you are not eating (heh) and is interesting to look back on. Take note of the things going on w/ur body, good and uncomfortable. On a side note, it sucks to watch tv when ur not eating.... for real... so much FOOD on there

-- Listen to your body. If you hate it, if your body hates it, if you feel it's doing more harm than good: STOP! But slooooooooowly. Breaking the fast is the hardest part imo, right after deciding to do it for real.

I really want to see what offthabooks might add here... homegirl did record numbers on the MC plan....???

BTW (coincidence?) I scrounged these links up earlier today for a post on sparkpeople.com, maybe they'll be helpful to you too? Maybe not, they're very general w/re to fasting. Spark em 2GUNS ;)

Thank you for the info. I am going on a drastic change in myself anyway and have prepared myself for not eating. Also, I initially wanted to do it for weight loss (per Beyonce') but after doing my research I see that basically I should do this to start off and clean my body well and continueing to exercise and eat right. Once again Thanks!

you'll lose weight.....but not the kind of weight you really wanna lose. A lifestyle change eliminates the need for such fad related crap.

I agree, that's why initially I was thinking of it as a diet and once I did more research on it I realized that its not a diet ( i dont know why they call it one) so I will use it as it is a Master cleanse.

I wanted to try this when I heard about it. I mean, losing some weight would be nice, even though the purpose is to clean out your GI Tract. I heard that whatever you lose in those two weeks, you gain half of it back. Good luck to whoever pursues it

good thinking Lady... also good example of why researching it is so important before just jumping into something new

It's called a diet b/c ur still taking in calories so technically are not fasting.

I did 21 days on the master cleanse in june...planning on doing it again in jan...maybe for 14 days...things to know- it's intense, 95% is mental, you will hear tons of negative shyt from others about it, you can maintain your weight by taking in more of the lemonade(if weight-loss is not your goal), if it's done right...it can completely change the way you eat & think about food.
