Anyone have any advice, tips or insight?
Originally I was researching melatonin after hearing about its overall health benefits, but after reading up on its relation to DHEA, I decided to start taking both to help with my strength training as well. Went to the pharmacy yesterday and copped two bottles of each as they were on sale. I decided on a regimen of taking one melatonin tablet every night before bed except for my workout days (2-3 times a week) where I'll take a 25mg DHEA in the morning instead. I also take a men's multivitamin daily after lunch. I'm only 22 which means my testosterone levels are just starting to peak so I know I have to be careful with the DHEA. Thoughts?

dont take more than 6mg of the melatonin at a time, it's just unneeded and will cause headaches.

i took melatonin about 10 years ago when i was in the marine corps. the one thing i really remeber about it is that i had the most vivid dreams ever, lol. i'm tellin you nightmares was a bytch. i stopped takin it cause the dreams were too much. the last one i had was that something had me pinned down in my bed and i could't get up. so i grabbed the pillow and put it over my head like a lil kid but whatever it was yanked the pillow from me, opened it's mouth and came straight for my face. i was actually scared to go back to sleep that night.
6. Melatonin enhances dreams and promotes sleep. This could lead to vivid, enjoyable and memorable dreams or, on the flip side, vivid nightmares. Melatonin enhances REM sleep. Any dose over 0.5 or 1 mg is likely to make dreams very intense. People report nightmares on high doses of 2 to 5 mg.

Word man, I've noticed my dreams have been very vivid, in a good way though. Haven't experienced any nightmares thankfully. I believe it has something to do with dopamine levels, because I've noticed in the past that if I went to sleep in a depressed mood, my dreams would be very vivid as well.
I'm assuming you took it to help you sleep. Me, I'm taking it for its antioxidative properties and to keep my nervous system healthy. Also, I've read somewhere that melatonin is a precursor for DHEA, which is a precursor for homones such as testosterone. Haven't noticed anything just yet though...
