There is a different between being accessible and being relevant.

They're relevant to people who like to listen to real Hip Hop...also without the past there is no present, so they are relevant in that rappers today will draw on them as influences. Finally, they're relevant as figures of Hip Hop history.

You could make the argument that they're not relevant to today's Hip Hop scene. (With the exception of Wu Tang who shouldn't be included in the list as Ghostface still gets airplay and Rae is working with Dre)
