This just popped in my head bout 15 minutes ago, so I wrote it down as it was coming. It's about my best friend, who is having a baby next month. It's not the best, but it's lighthearted. I guess it has a "hallmark card" feel to it.
Baby Boy
This year Christmas is coming early,
But you won't be getting a toy
What you're getting is so much better,
God's gift of a baby boy.
At first you were trepidatious,
A bundle of nerves cloaked with fear
But now you're counting the days,
Til your bundle of joy is here.
It won't be long before he's spoiled,
And surrounded by lots of love
And you'll be a fantastic Mother,
We know what you're capable of.
When if comes to fatherhood,
You're man's going to be great
Up early watching cartoons with your son,
And letting him stay up late.
This boy will be so loved,
He won't know what to do
With his family behind him,
And a Mother as wonderful as you.
