The wind boasts it's mighty howl
tree branches commence to bow
their foilage scatters the land
green leaves stand their ground
orange ones surrender then drop
floating to crepitate under foot
echoing like my frosted flakes
the artic breeze shuttle leaves
blanketing the earth like a quilt
the warning gun has sounded
nature's makeover has begun
snowflakes fall from the sky
tranquilly dispersing throughout
protecting the earth for the rebirth
snowmen and such supplant the flora
sleds and sleighs are in abundance
commodities are hot chocolate and tea
cuddling is now the optimal prize
life is conceived you best believe
spirits automatically downshift
winter prepairs us for the next episode
unthawing, to reveal new life to behold
you know not to touch the yellow snow
