Whats so great about Jack White?

I agree to an extent. I dont think he is one of the best musicians/songwriters out there, but there is definitely nothing wrong with him.

I think he's hit or miss. But when he hits he can produce amazing music. Personally I think that last track on "Get Behind Me Satan" ("I'm Lonely, but I Ain't That Lonely Yet") is my favorite song in over half a decade.

every so often the universe just decides they are gonna dikkride a new artist to no end. I never understand why groups like this or the Killers get so much credit for being amazing, when all I hear is music, nothing stands out to me, i would never sit and say "Wow, these guys are geniuses"

honestly, to me jack white is above average as a guitarist yes... and not even from a technical standpoint... but he puts on a hell of a show.. i do think he is overrated though..

Yeah, I saw them live last summer and it was one of the best performances I've ever seen. 90% of the greatness of the show was, of course, because of Jack not Meg. But the way he weaved songs together and basically did musically whatever he wanted to do, when he wanted to do it, how he wanted to do it, really proved beyond a doubt that he's an extremely capable musician, and a real master of his craft (not that his craft is "technically" sound, like you said).

Still overrated, mostly because his lyrics can be slightly nauseating.
