Three years in the making, THE INFORMATION is the album Beck began work on in 2003 with producer Nigel Godrich (Radiohead’s OK Computer, Kid A; Beck’s Sea Change, Mutations) and finally completed this year once Guero’s massive success and encore touring engagements, as well as Nigel’s other commitments, were fulfilled.

I've never listened to a beck album, I did like "turn it up now" (i think that's what it was called) and "Loser" what's the general style on this one?

I didn't like Guero much.

^Me either.

But this has apparently been 3 years in the making? Interesting.

Unfortunately it's produced by Nigel "I create music that self-proclaimed hipsters think is way more original than it really is" Goodricke. :(

I'm seven songs in and it's pretty good.

Just finished listening. It's ok, but I'm always underwhelmed when a Beck album doesn't match Odelay or Sea Change.

Or you could call him Nigel "worked with Radiohead to make some of the greatest albums of this generation" Goodricke

Or you could call him Nigel "worked with Radiohead to make some of the most overrated albums of this or any generation, nicking David Bowie and Brian Eno to death" Goodricke

Right.

Well you're going to be underwhelmed for a very long time because it's not happening.

Right.

Those radiohead albums are great, enough said. I don't even know who he is, but those albums speak for themself.

You seem to have something against these "hipsters" which must be some sort of yank thing

He also helped make that garbage that Paul McCartney keeps trying to pass off as music, so be fair.

I haven't heard the whole album (probably won't) and don't really want to because the single is horrible and Beck almost always falls right in line with the first single.

I haven't enjoyed any Beck in quite a while. He was better before he took himself so seriously.

Fantastic album. It's not Mutations/Odelay good, but it falls near the middle of his work. I'm admittedly a huge Beck fan and I love every album he's made, so that means that this is probably a 4.5/5.. a bit better than Seachange, a bit worse than Odelay & Mutations. (Guero/Midnite Vultures/Mellow Gold are 4/5 albums)

I can't believe I downloaded that and gave it a listen, one of the worst CDs i've heard in a long time.
