How many sets/how much weight is good to do? I used to do 4 sets of 25 with a 25# plate and that did nothing for me, so I quit abs for a month. I did 4 sets of 15 yesterday with 35# of weight and I think it works better. How can you figure out how much weight to use and how many reps to do?

it's your diet for the most part. esp in men. i was reading in a male fitness mag a couple days ago it was talkin' about where fat goes in the body. and in men it mostly goes to the stomach and in women it goes to the glutes the most. so just watch your calorie intake.

Not so, it's a common misconception that doing high reps for ab exercises is what gets results.......it usually comes from people who don't really know any better/don't get results. Me, personally, I do a total of 200 of 3 ab exercises 2-3 times/week (50 reps for each exercise) and I likely have the most defined abs here even at 211lbs. Quality is the key....not quantity. And as previously stated in this thread, how/what you eat is arguably 80% of the ab/midsection results and until the diet is in check, the person will always have mediocre ab game or no abs at all.
