Nuff respect to the knowledgable and buff menfolk here, but it seems this forum could use an estrogen boost from time to time LoL I get motivated hearing about others' fitness practice and such and was hoping the ladies could post up for a second just generally about where you're at w/yours?

Possible topics: How are you doing on your current fitness & health goals? What's your next challenge? helpful weightloss or workout hints? dope gear or routines you're up on? frustration you've encountered and overcome or have yet to overcome? words of encouragement for laggers like me?

just anything... I'll post my deets in a few... not that it's anything impressive or anything, just a constant progression, right? And you?

hey khalid how you??

you already know, I'm a workout newbian compared to most ppl here, but, I *HAVE* been going to the gym for which I am quite proud of myself... you might remember I was fearful about it from the beginning of the year... that's past, & I'm getting into it.

I only do like 35-45 minutes on the elliptical, twice a week at lunch, and am just starting to get into the weight machines. Hardest thing for me is scheduling the gym-time. Lame but true.

For the work I am doing, I totally SEE a difference in my shape, and my b-friend agrees I got narrower (less wide in the hips and firmer thighs) but on the scale, I see fluctuation of 1-3 lbs but no consistent downward movement, which irritates me. I think my ideal weight would be 10-15 lbs less where I am now.

I'm a generally healthy eater, but I've started taking suppliments and eating more whole grains, using Dr. Weil's 8 weeks to Optimum health (http://www.amazon.com/Weeks-Optimum-Health-Andrew-Weil/dp/0449000265) as a guide; I'm not religious about his program tho. I still walk a lot, which probably saves me from gaining weight at least.

My downfall is the weekend. My whole good-health routine goes out the window and I become a bum/weekend warrior. Some weekends I will hike or surf or do yoga, but not very frequently. I'm lax in my diet and drink too much beer, which is a serious (and yea very feminine heh) addition to the amt of calories I consume, plus makes me lazy/tired.

I'm trying to break myself of the "it's Friday, let's party" mentality I've had oh, most my life LoL... like maybe go to the gym Friday after work to at least start the weekend off on the right foot. Sounds stupid, but this is a huge challenge for me. Mental road block I guess.

Last but not least, I got a bicycle (yay) gonna start riding that a couple times a week, see what that does.

So yea, sorry for the long-ass post heh... feedback welcome... where the other ladies at?

Checkin in!

This summer, my goal was to increase my protein and cut off stuff with processed sugars. No ice cream, cake, cookies, etc. I used fruit as a substitute and although it sucked in the beginning, now I don't crave chocolate and sweets anymore. I think it is now a permanent lifestyle change.

I love to lift weights, but find machine cardio very boring. I thought Taebo may help, but I get bored with that too, so now, I'm just lifting weights and not much more (bad, I know).

I don't have a goal to lose weight or mass, I'd like to get defined in my arms and have bigger thighs, but with my busy schedule, at this point, I'm just trying to maintain what I have.

he actually has a really good program...I recently picked up his "eating well for optimum health" book & there is so much useful info in there as far as diet goes...

I'm doing good with my workouts tho...it's such a routine I won't feel right if I skip...now that fall is here, starting back up with my weekly soccer games, so that's def good...I've been trying to just train more seriously for competitive runs (see other thread lol)...I feel like there's a whole nother level I wanna be on as far as athleticism goes, so I'm trying to get there...

Here is a good website for women

sounds like you're off to a good start homegirl. don't worry about not seeing the scale move all that much either. you're most likely losing inches. the best way to tell is to go the store and try on a size down from the one you normally wear...you'll prolly be able to fit in it.

as for me....routine is pretty much the same...lots of cardio...swimming + strength training....
goals:
1) get a tennis partner for the fall and play at least 3 times a week. i'm paying all this money for membership fees at my local clubhouse and never play anymore. i refuse to play in the summer cos houston heat is KILLER and after 10 mins i'm ready to get off the court. all the leagues start up around the fall anyways.

2) sign up for diving(platform) lessons at my gym.

much like you it's just finding the time ...now that i'm working 6 days a week.

I as well have been trying to get back into shape. In college, it was crazy how easy it was to be in shape for me..but working now, and working two jobs at that has made it more difficult to eat/exercise like how I should...

To the help of Big H:inlove: Ive been trying to get back into shape...and so far so good...heard people at the job saying how it looks like I slimmed down some. My goal is to get back to my college size and have more def in my thighs and arms, along with getting the booty bigger...

My weakness is sweets..so thats what Im tryin to tackle now...+

Right now Big H has me doing 3 days of cardio and 3 days of weight training doing different areas..today is cardio day, and even though I wont be going to the gym, Im going to the club so I think that can count right?lol I usually dance more than an hour and with heels on, so I think Im gonna get a good workout
