:thumbsdow A west coast rapper can move 200,000 units just on the west alone with not national exposure. Southern artist were able to make it nationally because the big record labels saw them moving thousands of units in their region alone. The same with midwest acts. But on the east coast its like the fans hate for no reason and don't show no love to local acts or veterans for that matter. Nas, Mobb Deep, Busta Rhymes all of those artists should be able to move 500k with no problem just based on demographics alone, but they struggle. Yet Ice Cube can come of of a long music hiatus and because the has a loyal fan base he hasn't reached gold yet but he's steadily approaching.
