stfu, some emo bands are good. Every fukkin thing seems to be classified as "emo" these days so i dont even know how some qualify, when I think emo, i think that ****** Chris Carraba. List some $hit, I probably have alot of them, but i need some new music.

DFA 1979 - You're A Woman, I'm A Machine
DFA 1979 - You're A Woman, I'm A Machine
Don't think that qualifies. I think Steff is talking about the sugary stuff.
Hmm, what's all the stuff I was listening to when
Taking Back Sunday - Tell All Your Friends
Brand New - Your Favorite Weapon, Deja Entendu
Armor For Sleep - Dream to Make Believe
Copeland - Beneath the Medicine Tree
The Early November - The Room's Too Cold, Acoustic EP
Allister - Last Stop Suburbia
Count the Stars - Never Be Taken Alive
Greatest pop-punk record ever in my opinion. Great dudes. Great live show. Wish they didn't break up. First band I was ever in was named after one of their songs. They broke up right after we gave 'em out demo so it probably never got into Victorys hands. Probably good that it didn't.
I just realized you said the past two years. Hmmmm.
This Providence - Our World's Divorce
Cartel - Chroma
I haven't really heard any other pop-punk records that were any good besides those two.

the dude in Cartel has a great voice, he sounds like alot of other singers, but he stands apart for some reason. I like their album, what else

Yes.
and DFA doesnt really fit into this whole emo/emocore/post hardcore crap
The only great punk record in recent years is The Exploding Hearts' Guitar Romantic. It's a shame there will never be another record from them.
As far as emo goes, the only stuff I can stand is Rites Of Spring and Jawbreaker, if you can even call them emo.

Sing the Sorrow was 2003 I think. So was Deja Entendu, that was actually 2002 or some shyt. haha.
I liked Sum 41's Chuck! I like a few Taking Back Sunday songs, but I'd never check out a full album. Same for My Chemical Romance. Besides that, I don't listen to that type of music anymore. I did for about two years (2001-2003) and then never again. Nothing wrong with it, it just doesn't fit my ears I guess.

yeah I know he's seriously gay
dont care
...dont care.
Sing the Sorrow was cool. I think their playing is incredible, the lyrics are probably better than a lot of stuff out, but my quip is his voice. I do like it, but i can see how it's instantly dismissed.
It's obnoxious as hell.
But i think it's a bit of an acquired taste, like muscles and clams and sh*t.

lol pretty much. I actually like his voice a lot, its versatile and I like the whole low-to-falsetto thing he often does. But yeah, when you think about it its not a whole lot different from the rest of the screamo fags with that annoying pitch and ennunciation...but somehow his is better.

I think it's better because it makes sense with the music. It's not an angle (see: emo). I only heard Miss Murder, which is a lot different than Sing the Sorrow... STS is an obnoxious, well played album that a lot of heads that are into Joe Satriani and Dream Theater are also into.
An album by musicians, for musicians.

it's really not. Kill Caustic sounds like a Sing the Sorrow track, then it's a bunch of slower ***** ass tracks. Most of them are good, but they toned it down for Southernunderground. Sing the Sorrow is alot better, and also by far their best album. All the people like to say their older stuff is better, but they used to just be a sloppy punkish type band, good, but Sing the Sorrow is definately their best.

my bad Decemberunderground, got it confused with Cunninlynguists lol. But nah, the new album is more lowkey then Sing the Sorrow. Track 4-6 sound like the same song. This album doesnt touch the last one, but im sure it will grow on me more, thats how they work

Yeah ok, I see what you're saying...slower tempos overall and more experimentation...more akin to the end of Sing the Sorrow than the whole album. Still the same chant-along choruses though, and it gives the same overall feeling. Davey's voice seems a bit lower, too...didnt he have surgery?

Haven't really followed the genre lately but that Delilah and the joint by Paramore are both catchy.

Yeah my friend from my old block just got into rock, and he's trying to get me on Plain White T's (Delilah song) and Paramore, but I aint having it. Actually I downloaded a bunch of Paramore one day and thought it was decent, but it aint my sound, so I won't hear it again.
All I know for sure though, is that this song is flames

Rise Against - Survive
there is an intro, but it makes the song that much more powerful. Sounds hot, but it's also the lyrics that take you there.
EDIT
Version without intro and has lyrics floating through

it was, and the chick is cute as hell
Rise Against is great, latest album is very good, but im sure everyone here hates them
I've heard good things about Rise Against but I haven't really checked it out. I think Ben Lee (it could be someone else) covered their most recent record in it's entirety.
Jesus christ that new Paramore single is crack.
