i think Grime is in the only place it can flourish right now, i dont think we'll ever see any decent mainstream grime and any grime artists that get those mainstream deals will get watered down and fukked up. I love grime to death but i cant see it becoming anything more than an underground phenomonan. If you listen to the sh!t thats comin out right now, its so hot but mainstream uk dont want to hear it let alone anywhere else.

Weird innit. The only thing that can save it will probably end up killing it in the long run.

The scene does need to breakthrough somehow to keep the best artists pursuing it seriously but if it does breakthrough watch out for grime collabo's with Lady Sovereign and Lemar. Urrgghh.

yeah man, thats on point, when i heard Sway (ok i know he aint grime) had signed with Akon i was like noooooooooooo! i really hope grime stays where it is cause theres so much heat comin out the streets now. i never want to hear smasher spitting a verse on a chrstina aguilera track you get me!

Listened to this the other night, sounded really good. You know what to expect from B

Twisman - Dont Get It Twisted (http://www.ukish.co.uk/blog/?p=95)

This was pretty good too, like the UK twista but with lyrics more often than not

New Tinchy Stryder - Breakaway (http://www.ukish.co.uk/2007/02/17/new-tinchy-stryder-tracks/)

It's pretty good, also posted up the video for the track. But I like the other track that's on the promo, sounds more like underground, which is a heavy track

Also, let's get a good sized Last.fm group going:

http://www.last.fm/group/UKish

If you don't know, Last.fm keeps track of what you listen too. It's really good, not to mention you can dig for new music based on what you listen too. Also the live signatures are really cool

A new EP from producer “Joker”. (http://www.ukish.co.uk/2007/02/24/joker-kapsize-ep/)

I’ve not even heard of this guy before, but this short EP tells me he’s going to do big things. Grimish bass heavy beats which are gagging for someone to spit a few bars over.

Hey what's up.

I've never stayed in England before. I'm headed there in April to stay in London for a few days. Someone put me on to what are some good spots to hit up.

-I want to drop a few of my mixtapes out there, let me know where I should go.
-also, what spots have a good selection of Kangols.
-in general what other places are good to check out.

Don't know if any of y'all have gone to Amsterdam, but I'm guessing some of you have - where's the best smoke shops? what else is there to do there? any hip hop spots?

Someone put me on, I'd appreciate it.

Dizzee Rascal returns with his new album 'Maths & English'. Written entirely by
Dizzee, the album features contributions from the Arctic Monkeys ('Temptation') U.S rappers UGK ('Where Da Gs') and Newham Generals ('Lemon') as well as production credits from long-time collaborator Cage and also Shy FX, who produces the track 'Da Feelin'.

Other highlights on the album include '***** Ole' that's built around the Lyn Collins track 'Think About It', the debut single 'Sirens', and the amazing 'Wanna Be' which sees Dizzee joining forces with Lily Allen as they throwdown their lyrical assault over a cheeky sample from Bugsy Malone, with Future Trax taking care of the production duties.
