What are peoples thoughts on this? I def dont do beer cause I know that horrible for you on a diet. But is wine and liqour just as bad? Is it just the calories that are a problem? Or does alcohol have some other affect?

alcohol makes your liver work overtime, so when you binge drink.. your liver has all it can handle with trying to process all the alcohol.. and it's too busy to do any other work.. and your liver has as many as (i've heard up to) 500 functions, many of which are directly related to weight gain/loss/maintenance. so if you're drinking heavily, that's ALL your liver and kidneys can really worry about.. they can't worry about spending time filtering out any other trash in the body except for the alcohol.

alcohol is very high in calories also.. i'm sure you know this. beer is the worst by far, although they're making several types of beers now that are light in calories. i think the lightest is like 60 calories/beer, but i forget the name. i wanna say aspen something.

Well for guys who lift or athletes, Alcohol can have devastating effects on muscle. It robs your body of Testosterone which is something men cannot afford to lose. It also causes dehydration, supplies empty-calories, induces more fatigue, decreases strength, among many other destructive effects.

Now this is speaking the short-term effects of drinking during a training regimen. You will usually see these things for 48-72 hours after drinking just two or three beers/hard liquor.

Beer should certainly be avoided, but the occasional drink won't hurt THAT much. If your on a diet I suggest you stay away from ALL alcohol, but every once in a while its okay to have some Vodka there or some Rum here. Just remember moderation is key.

Keep carbs (mainly sugar) to a minimum if you do drink so that eliminates most Beer and mixed drinks. Rum with a diet coke ain't bad, Vodka straight up or a martini is ok too. Light and Ultra Light beers are okay on occasion too.

Yeah but during my cheats on the weekend. I can't help but drink 2 40's of OE before I hit the club. But beer helps me because it's a serious dieretic and I seem not to gain water weight after a weekend binge on bullsh1t food when I drink beers on the weekend. But I didn't know it effected test.

Yea I mean the occasional 40 is straight haha.

But yea, it lowers test levels by a substantial amount. Especially for them cats that NEED to get fubar when they drink.
