haha, I don't listen to this type of music, but I want to post so check out
Sigur Ros
Stereophonics
^^^ Took me like 10 minutes to remember this song I liekd by them. Then I had to search for it on Amazon. That was like the only Soft British rock song I ever liked (I think Karma Police and Clocks are cool as well).

I've only heard just a couple of tracks...but Hoobastank and Rem are pretty dope!
Same spirit as Coldplay? I think so!

I'm not a coldplay fan but good luck finding something as good as radiohead. if you want some music easily as good as radiohead, i'd suggest bjork's 5 albums & mike patton projects like fantomas, mr bungle, patton & kaada etc.

Mike Patton is knowhere near the same type of music as this. Still quality stuff though.
And theres no comparing Radiohead to any of these other bands. When your frontman is this talented (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4L-xPDgDZA8), its over for everyone else.

Nothing is better than Radiohead.
Check out Sigur Ros and Wilco.
Blur are brilliant. They've made so many great, great records, and it's kind-of a travesty that most everyone in the States only knows them for "Song 2."
Pulp are fantastic as well. Highly recommended.
Classics like the Beatles, Love, and the Kinks are also always solid choices.
Others:
The La's
Wilco (one of the best bands we have going today)
Sigur Ros
Bjork
Jim O'Rourke (check out Insignifance)
Sonic Youth (one of my favorite bands, if not the favorite, ever)
The thing with Coldplay is that there are so many bands who've done what they do before and better. Just pick up U2's The Joshua Tree.
