I spent most of this week painting and listend to the Gnarls Barkley record. Crazy, Gone Daddy Gone and The Boogie Monster are really the only songs I don't like. It's an above-average record.

^Agree. Gnarls is decent but not great. Compared to everything else out, though, I'm VERY glad to see it still in the top 10 albums. We can't all listen to Lauryn Hill and Eryka Badu or whoever that "critic" loves. It just doesn't work as a culture. I liked Miseducation, but that album barely means **** to me. Maybe if I was an discontent black woman then I'd still care about her or her ****ty Unplugged album, but instead I think I'll just almost-interestedly listen to Gnarls Barkley a few times for what it's worth and pass the time.

Gnarls does not = brainwashing.

Maybe there's a media campaign I'm not aware of that is trying to make it out to be far deeper than what it is, though. Like they did with the Strokes.

that Gnarls album is almost trying to be different for the sake of being different. 'look, we can even remake a violent femmes song - badly!'
cee-lo's been around for a while and where i do like his voice, it must be used in moderation. an entire album of it is just disgusting and i think it takes away from DMs production. the worst, and only bad, song on the dangerdoom album was the one with cee-lo.
