Their new one, Drum's Not Dead, is incredible. And the much-maligned They Were Wrong So We Drowned is fantastic, despite the fact that Spin and Rolling Stone threw hissy fits about how supposedly noisy it was. They Threw Us In A Trench is much, much more straightforward than their newer stuff, but it's still very good and progressive. Danceable too.

Spin and Rolling Stone never get anything right.

Of course. The comparisons they made between They Were Wrong and Lou Reed's Metal Machine Music were so way off-base, it was almost laughable. I mean, if you want "unlistenable" noise, there's so much more extreme stuff out there. I'd hate to see those critics review a record by John Wiese or Emil Beaulieau.

Basically. You have a bunch of smug 30+ year olds waiting for the Strokes or the White Stripes to release another record. It's terrible. I can't read any magazines and take the music reviews seriously.

i have their second album. the second track is bonkers. listening to it reminds me of leonardo dicaprio running through the forest on mushrooms in "the beach",
