i'm 19. i grew up listening to that old stuff, that's what rock is to me. I like a lot of modern rock (mars volta, wolfmother, strokes, yeah yeah yeahs) but that sh!t isn't what you'd classify emo. fob, p!atd, afi, mcr etc. are actually what i'd consider 'truly pathetic' anyway, and i've never felt the inclination to dig deeper into emo
