we (generally speaking) like them a lot... scroll back a few pages in this forum..plenty of threads in here about death cab.

I think Ben Gibbard is a great songwriter. Although I wasn't big on the Plans record I think some of their older stuff more than makes up for it. Check out All-Time Quarterback! which was a solo album Gibbard released.

These cats are very dope. I copped Something About Airplanes on a whim, and have been trying to grab all of there other joints since. Haven't heard all of Plans, but heard it's very nice.

I picked up Plans when it first dropped, didn't really like it and felt the same way as you, recently I gave it a second try and I must admit its a damn good record in retrospect

It's catchy but not much else. The hype is as un-justifiable as the Arctic Monkey's was, they just don't have anything special going on there.

My view on them, awesome..I love em'..Not for everybody, but I love their second album, "We Have The Facts"...It's just fun, laidback pop..I don't know how else to describe it...

they're good, but inconsistent. transatlanticism was a classic IMO.
