There's the "tae-bo ho soccer mom cardio" kickboxing you mentioned, then there's kickboxing like Muay-thai, kyokushin, sanda/san-shou, etc. By the way, of course it isn't brazilian jiu-jitsu, jiu-jitsu is a grappling art, kickboxing is a striking art. Two completely different things. I know, I train both.

What I am saying is he is not training to fight. Kickboxing is more used by people who are either serious fighters or average people (like jim jones) to get into shape. If he is training to fight Tru Life he lost that would be corny.

Of course they are two different things. People dont study bjj just strickly to get in shape. It is for defensive/fighting purposes.
