Lennon said this song was a throwaway, that it wasn't about anything. Yet I find that it could actually be about a few things, like materialistic women or something....anyone have an opinion?

I think he wrote plenty of songs about nothing. I agree with you. That song is actually about something.

Solo? You mean the melody in the last 30 seconds? I guess you could call it a solo but yeah, it's great but not fantastic or anything. Was it Harrison or Lennon playing the electric guitar there?

Both. The version on the Anthology has Paul and John laughing over the whole track. Laughter begats laughter, rendering the song hilarious.
