Fruit is always a good option. It has natural sugars in it. Just find a fruit you really like and use it as a subsitute for your regular treats.
You can have sweets, you just need to watch how much sugar is in it. My mother's rule of thumb has always worked for me. If it has more that 20 g of sugar in it, then you really don't need to be eating it.
Water and fruits. It's hard. I lost my sweet tooth while dieting, now that I've stopped dieting it coming back. I'm back on that fruit and water kick.

Ok, sweets! Is all about Nutrition, but that's an article all on it's own. Try this even if if kills you. Monday Through Friday tell yourself that you will "NOT" give in. Your crave will not dominate you. Then on saturday have a little something as a reward. Then Sunday have a "Little" something again. It's monday again you know what to do. Try it, I promise you it will work. But you have to commit yourself. You can do it!!!

every time you reach for something sweet, look at the amount of calories on it. Think about how a person who eats more than 2000 calories daily gains weight, a person that eats less than 2000 calories loses weight and if you stay around 2000 you maintain weight.
Here's how I created my own weight loss program
I know a person isn't suppose to eat more than 2000 calories a day so I told myself I could eat up to 1500-17 calories to lose weight depending on how much weight i wanted to lose. At first I looked at sweets as empty calories since they don't fill you up and in some cases they make you want more sweets or something else to eat. Empty calories meaning you eat it but you would have been better off eating a small meal or nothing at all. When I started going down in weight, I added sweets to my 15-1700 calories per day but i'd drink a huge glass of water with it and there couldn't be more than 190 calories in it.
If a sweet has more than 200 calories, that's too much for me. I know the calorie count to just about every sweet I like because I've been looking at them for 2 years straight. You need to cut out those empty calories or burn them off. If I ate something high in calories I had to double my workout like if I was going to work out for 1/2 hour, I upped it to an hour.

Works for me! I'm a big late night snacker so I don't buy cookies and chips and all that for the house, I buy fruit and rice cakes and snack on them...people think rice cakes are nasty but I get the different flavors and I'm good to go. Its such a habit now that I can't even sleep knowing i don't have fresh fruit in the house...its a must...and its healthy!
