I just started back working out again. Last time I worked out I changed my diet completly, ate all the protein i needed and all that jazz.

But now thats just not realistic for me. I plan on just working out and eating a regular healthy diet. No protein powder or any other supplements...and im not going to stuff myself w/ chicken breat and tuna either.

I dont want to be some monster, just be in shape. W/ me eating regular, will lifting still allow me to gain a little mass and strength?

6'1 190 right now and just need to lose a little fat and maybe gain a little muscle

Muscle is metabolically expensive. Keep taking the multi-vitamins and minerals, if you aren't already, then definitely start. The benefit of those supplements are that you are intaking all the essential nutrients without adding additional calories.

Beware if you are not intaking enough calories demanded by your muscles, your body will shed some of the muscle mass you have. Happens to everyone. I wouldn't eliminate the idea of protein shakes, just don't take weight gainers and eat around your BMR and spread your meals throughout the day. You should be fine.

Being BIG is not easy. Those guys eat throughout the day like every meal was thanksgiving dinner. I wouldn't worry about that.

My suggestion is to gain muscle mass then cut like crazy until you get the weight you desire. There are plenty of 165 pounds cats in great shape that bulk and cut a few times a year.
