him being one of the most over rated rappers ever..Dude is constantly placed above Nas on all-time lists(vh1,mtv,bet,etc.)and publications(the source, xxl, vibe, etc).shouldnt you have like an extinsive discography before being placed on an all-time list? i mean dont get me wrong dude put out 2 solid albums but in no way shape or form is he seeing a prolific mc like Nas.

The previous year Snoop Dogg won best lyricist of the year over Redman and many others who were better. The Source just dikkrode who was popular at the time.

I don't think it's THAT easy to chose the mid-90's king of NY. Jigga, Biggie and Nasty Nas are definately in there, but I could impossibly say one is better than the other!
Skools:
1973-1977: The Pre-Skool
1978-1982: The Old Skool
1983(Beginning with Sucka MCs of course, NOONE can call that old skool)-1986: The Nu Skool
1987-1989: The Now Skool
1990-1996: The so called "golden era"-Skool - I call it Tru Skool, but then again Tru Skool can be 1986 and 2006 too...
1997-2002: The watered-down MTV Skool
2002- The RIP hiphop, nice knowin' ya Skool
If 1995 is old skool, then my fav year 1992 is f**king ancient history??!? C'mon...old skool does not just mean "old" there's a certain sound, the pre-Run-DMC sound, that is called Old Skool!!!

Am I the only person who remembers an interview with Big actually SAYING he didn't think he'd win lyricist of the year? "Nah, not with Nas on there" I believe were his exact words. That $hit musta been on Video Music Box or something. New York heads help me out!

Yea man ur right, he said something along the lines of him being shocked or surprise that he won, cuz he figured it was definitely going to nas.

Yeah,Biggie now Nas is savage...but as you know the publics awareness and record sales seem to correspond with one another...and Biggie probably won becuase of that.....
