View Full Version : Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds!!!!!
WHAT'S YA'LL KNOW ABOUT TRIPPING BALLS!?!!
LISTEN TO THIS IN YOUR :headphone: and it will change your life.
"Picture yourself in boat on a river,
With tangerine trees and marmalde skies
Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly,
A girl with kaleidoscope eyes.
Cellophane flowers of yellow and green,
Towering over your head.
Look for the girl with the sun in her eyes,
And she’s gone.
Lucy in the sky with diamonds,
Follow her down to a bridge by a fountain
Where rocking horse people eat marshmallow pies,
Everyone smiles as you drift past the flowers,
That grow so incredibly high.
Newspaper taxis appear on the shore,
Waiting to take you away.
Climb in the back with your head in the clouds,
And you’re gone.
Lucy in the sky with diamonds,
Picture yourself on a train in a station,
With plasticine porters with looking glass ties,
Suddenly someone is there at the turnstile,
The girl with kaleidoscope eyes.
Lucy in the sky with diamonds."

I do like the song but it's my least favorite on "Sgt. Pepper's", next to "Within You Without You".

You like "For the Benefit of Mr. Kite" more than Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds?
I respect the opinion, but I don't understand it.

lol. lennon was that dude. you can seriously close your eyes and imagine yourself at the circus. "and of course henry the horse dances the walls!" LSD (lol) is a great song but i only listen to it sporadically. in fact, the songs that get the most burn on that album are the title track, the reprise, getting better, with a little help from my friends, when i'm sixty-four, a day in the life, and lovely rita.
Top 5 Beatles songs:
Across the Universe
Revolution
A Day in the Life

Lennon was absolutely brilliant.
And for the record, until the day he was murdered, he said that the song was about a drawing his son made at school that had all sorts of fantastical imagery in it.

true. I doubt it was a coincidence to have named it Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.
