View Full Version : Is running really all that bad for you?

lately i've just been focusing on weight training and have really been slacking on my cardio. i haven't done any major cardio literally since LAST JULY, which is ridiculous for me. i walk 10-15 miles a week, but i know that doesn't do sh1t except keep my calves nice and lean. so i guess my question is: is running really as bad for your legs in the long term as they say it is? the problem is, i'm tired of wasting precious hours hauling my ass to the gym on public transportation, so i want to start running again. i've known plenty of people that don't even go to the gym and just run track at the park or whatever and it hasn't seemed to effect their legs in any way, but who knows what'll happen to their joints 5-10 years from now. so is it really worth it for me to start running or should i suck it up and stay going to the gym and hit the eliptical machines?

running isnt as bad for you as ppl make it out to be. just dont do it everyday. now i'm not saying that you shouldnt do cardio everyday but switching it up is the key. do the bicycle or the eliptical machine.

i try and do all three everyday. i might do the Bicycle Monday and do the Eliptical Machine the rest of the week but on Friday i hit the outdoors and run.

i am big on weightlifting as well. but i will never give up on cardio.

as far as your knees are concerned. it aint something you wanna do everyday.

i knew a girl in High who used to run track and her coach would push her everyday. while everybody else was stretching and shyt tryna end the day she was still out there running for the coach. asd a result she has to busted knees and Doctors say she wont be able to run anymore.
