like after a work out how much protein would the body use to repair muscle cause they say u have to spread your protein intake through out the day or you will have protein shyts and most shakes are like 25-32 grams but the cyto gainer stuff im using is 54g a serving so if my body can only use say 40g after a work out what happens to the rest?pooped out?
All of it is used, especially post-workout. Upwards of 40 grams per serving is ideal though. Protein isn't stored as fat compared to Carbs and Fat.

ok so no more than 40g a serving after a workout. and big h i read somewhere that people who dont eat 5-6 meals a day go in a canobolic(sp) stage where the body would break down muscle instead of fat or carbs in the body.is there any truth to that or does that just apply to people who are below 1200 calories a day?

Catabolic stage is the opposite of anabolic phase. In a catabolic state the body burns(or breaks down) muscle mass and fat, and in an anabolic state, the body builds muscle mass. Its imperative for peeps that are trying to build muscle mass, to strive to keep their bodies in an anabolic state as much as possible. So that muscle is continuously being built. The advantage of eating multiple(more than 3 to 4) times a day is that it raises your metabolic rate, aiding your body in burning fat, and also helps your heart rate(together with fitness and exercising) and overall health.
Even people that consume 1200 calories a day, aren't necessarely burning (that much) muscle. Considering they are following a solid structured diet and still exercising hard, theres a big chance they'll maintain most of their muscle mass with just taking in 1200 cals a day.

wrong, any of the 3 major sources of energy can be stored as fat in excess...........

Protein is last on that list. You'd have to consuming upwards of 300-400 grams of it to notice any type of possible fat storage, and at a rapid rate too. Carbs and Fat are readily available as energy for your body so its more likely to be stored as Fat. Your body puts priority on certain types of energy with Fats and Carbs being first. Protein is synthesized by every muscle in your body, Fat and Carbs on the other hand are not as popular with Muscle. Adding exercise and weight lifting to your routine will increase this demand even more, resulting in an even lower chance of Protein being stored as Fat.

you sir are 100% correct...........
it just sounded like you were making a blanket statement that protein absolutely couldn't be converted to fat,i figured that you knew that already, but i didn't want whoever made this thread to be misled, dude might start consuming mass amounts of protein shakes and ish..........

Haha, noted.
Yea I shoulda added that lil tid bit in there. But most people usually can't consume that much protein even if they try. I have seen guys who just start eating insane amounts of protein but don't lift or exercise... it turns them into blobs. Protein has to be used and processed like anything else you put into your body; not doing so will lead to negative side effects.
