..but I don't want to get big, just cut I guess. I want to add some cardio in too (running particularly). I'm 5'7" about 165, and not completely out of shape.

Where do I start if I just want to be lean?

What should my regimine look like?

What should I eat (diet & supplement)?

Any advice is welcome.

Do you have accessto a gym? Because with that, you can get a little more in depth with lifting...

But for cardio, walking/running will work. If you don't have access to a gym, then pushups, situps, pullups, some polymetrics will get you in good shape, also eating right.

If your a beginner some bodyweight exercises such as push ups, incline push ups, sit ups, crunches, pull ups and dips should suffice.... i'd say do this along w/ cardo 4 days a week for about a month then move on to weights....

the weights should have a rep scheme of 15 reps.... when hittin calves and lower back up the reps to 25... some sprints on a track will get you cut and tight....

drink lots of water, add more veggies and particularly greens to your diet, stay away from high glycemic fruits and breads such as pastas, white bread and banannas

OK, I don't know if I am FOllowing you correctly, but let me give you an alternative. I hate lifting, but I used to do it for a while. When I was hitting the gym, I gained a bit of mass and shape, but I realized **** was easier for me (and the results were better) when I

1) Increased my appetite a lot! But I didn’t' start that 5 meals a day stuff right away. I sort of got lazy for 2 weeks, did not exercise, and just ate a lot food. All types of food.
2) After the second week, I was eating 5 meals a day, and it was high protein content but I didn't care if it was low carb or high carb, only the protein was important.
3) I started doing exercise 4 times a week (1 long session with 30 minutes of yoga and stretching). Bicep curls, pushups, situps, reverse sit ups (that thing that works out your lower back), shoulder exercise with dumbells. I kept it real simple, and dumbells were my only "machinery".
4) Learning a few yoga moves helped with flexibility and tone.

I had was 5 10 and 175 pounds I believe. I wasn't cut cut, but I had a muscular shape. That's the look I prefer though. Problem is, I stopped doing all this after 6 months, so I can't tell how things would turn out in the long run. I'm down to 160 pounds now and I do no exercising. But honestly if u aint into waits, do what I did, keep it simple.

It seems like u and I have similar bodies, so that’s why I’m suggesting this. It’s easier for us to get “fatter” then work that into muscle. Getting slimmer/cut then gaining mass is gonna be more work. Then again, our metabolism may be different, so do you. It’s all about experimenting and doing what you like/will stick with.
