Agreed. but they did drop again - They released 'Blow Up The Spot' on Wild Pitch in 1993 just not many people heard it. Definatly worth getting if you can find it though

I got that Super Lover Cee & Casanova Rud album on my desk. Only 3 songs on that album didn't get play. They had three certified street classics.

DO THE JAMES
SUPER CASANOVA
GIRLS I GOT 'EM LOCKED

Two things to remember them for...

The whole album was produced on an SP-1200. Listen to the album and if you check the dates, you'll see it was before it's time musically and lyrically.

DO THE JAMES was a 4-track 'cassette' demo. They tried to re-do it, but the demo they did in their house was better. So they mastered the demo. A bulk of the Juice Crew stuff was done the same way.

They was signed to DNA Records, then signed to Elektra. They were label mates with the group that made GOD MADE ME FUNKY. Can't think of the name off hand.

The reason they never came back out was more political than anything.

Years later, they showed up on Wild Pitch - but no one cared. Super Lover Cee still does shows in NYC.

Too Poetic did 'GOd Made Me Funky' which i think Paul C produced aswell but cant remember offhand.
The Wild Pitch EP is pretty good worth quite a bit now too.
I got a 12" from a couple of years back by Super Hef which is Super Lover Cee that isnt saying much

Naaa, when Paul C was murdered, it really messed up their careers. Back then, they were one of my favorite groups. Supa Lova was nice too. My joint was Girls, I Got em Locked

Without dry snitching...

From what I heard from a reliable source, Paul C was murdered for a reason. Keep in mind, Super Lover Cee & Casanova disappeared for YEARS after Paul C died.

For clarification, I'm not saying Supe & Rud killed Paul C.

It's the one story no writers/magazine will touch because...they won't.

I heard this too...there was a issue in the Uk magazine Big Daddy dedicated to Paul C a few years ago that touched on this and i'm sure they asked Super Loce Cee about this. I'm gonna have to dig it out and refresh my memory

Im from Queens and I heard over the years that Paul C was set up by wifey who was black while Paul was a white irish dude. Superlover C was rumored to be involved and Astoria Projects was not soft back in the day. They used to go to war with Queenbridge on the regular. I know who would know and need to ask him next time I see him. Either Royal Flush or Xtra P would know for sure and they are always in the hood chillin.

If Paul would have never died he mightve put Marley Marl outta business with the sht he was doin. He was ahead of his time and thank god he mentored Large Professor to be a prodigy on the boards. The stuff Paulie did after Paul died was incredible for his age. Dude is slept on to the point he doesnt even exist.

DJ Disco Wiz was in a group with Caz right way before the Cold Crush and Rubie D was the one who did the chant "Puerto Rico! Ho!" that made Frankie Cutlass a household name in the early 90's.
