Imagine a life where equality has no meaning
wooden rafts jam packed with refugees, blind lambs sent to work
while there kids burn effigies, silencing our native tongues
chinky eyed without seeing, Our being
brought on by hopes of better days, slaves to the corporate grave, Brave
but beleaugered by our skins shade.
We are taught white is right, purity is in the light skin
to talk colored or worse, to Be colored is a sin, even when,
Jesus Walked as a caramel complexioned confection, sweet to the ideals appealed by caucasians,
all while history retorts his mirror's reflection,
drawn pale by an anglo-saxon infection.
I wish i had blue eyes, azure as the zephyr sky above me, maybe then cheerleaders would love me, inebriated frat brothers would accept me, let me,
partake in a white-picket-fence-fantasy, and
with confidence i would confide that this chance to see a homogenous Me is almost
