Thanks, I'm still cutting though. I want to hit 235 by the end of April and cruise in to summer break. I had gained more weight than planned this past winter.
You plan on cutting over the summer or you gonna bulk all year?

A reduction in bodyfat in other words. Its just a diet aimed at losing fat instead of just weight. You typically follow cycles; you'll bulk (gain weight and muscle) for a while, and then cut (cut fat while trying to retain muscle).

I plan on starting my cutting cycle approximately 5-6 weeks from now. lol, however it would be fun to bulk all year though. Bulkying is so much fun. :)

what is a good way of dropping overall bodyweight, but not losing to much muscle..and i'm talking bout in an aggressive manner?

It sure is.

The only way to reduce fat is to go on a calorie restricted diet. Keeping muscle during a diet is always a key factor so first off, KEEP LIFTING HEAVY! On a diet your energy isn't what it used to be so your gonna want to adopt a new lifting routine. I've found the 5x5 routine best during diets to keep strength and muscle. By 5x5 I'm talking about 5 sets of 5 reps with HEAVY weight.
Another golden rule during a cutting diet is to eat 5-6 times a day. Make protein the main feature of these meals while keeping carbs low and fat low as well. As for carbs, eat ONLY complex carbs and fiber. These include %100 Whole Grain products, Brown Rice, lots of veggies, Steel-cut Oats, etc. Complex carbs are good for energy but don't go overboard. Your gonna want to eliminate sugar as well.
A third golden rule is to drink ATLEAST 1 gallon of cold, purified water a day. Water works wonders on diets along with assisting your Kidneys in flushing that fat out your body. Water also kicks out excess Sodium from your body, this is good because Sodium causes you to retain water and makes it easier to gain fat (Since Tuna may be one of your feature diet foods, water will be your best friend).
Finally, and most importantly, it boils down to your calorie intake. You MUST LOWER YOUR DAILY CALORIE INTAKE TO LOSE WEIGHT/FAT. This doesn't mean to drop from eating 3,000 calories a day to eating 1,000 calories a day, it means dropping your intake on a weekly basis. Start by cutting 500 calories out your diet for the first week, and 500 the next week, and so on.
This is a rough overview, holla if you need specifics.

I thought it would be more effective to lift light and just do more reps in order to get leaner? I think my diet and cardio are in order, but i need to get my weight lifting in order so i can be hittin on all cylinders u know

No, its the opposite. It used to be held that more reps would burn extra calories but it really does nothing. Plus you'll be burning yourself out a lot faster. That 5x5 routine is what I use and it's worked for me so I suggest it to others, but you may find your own way. It comes down to how much energy your gonna spend in the gym. If your lifting three days a week (MWF) then the 5x5 routine would be best, but if your doing the 5 days-a-week thing then lighter weight with the SAME reps would be fine too. You really won't benefit from the higher reps because your not consuming enough calories to compensate for the added stress you put on your muscles; in other words there is little to no muscle growth so whats the point in high reps? My advice is to save your energy and exert more of that force on higher weight; you may even get stronger on your cut doing it this way.

sh1t, i did not know about that. i definately need to cut my sodium intake by ALOT. just yesterday, i ate an entire fukkin pouch of chicken soup (there wasn't a damn thing else to eat) which contained 3 servings equaling 89% of the daily value of sodium...in just ONE MEAL!!! this definately ain't a good look. fukk you salt, you're not my friend.

LOL, yea Sodium is something you need to watch. On a diet, Sodium makes you retain water in your muscles and in your fat tissue. Drinking water and taking mega doses of Potassium are some of the best ways to kick Sodium out your system. A lot of packaged or canned foods contain more Sodium in an effort to reduce calories or carbs, and it helps in that respect, but the added Sodium is something you need to watch.

Don't overdo cardio on a cutting diet. Keep it to 2-3 times week. Too much cardio on a calorie restricted diet will cause Catabolism on your muscles (eating away of the muscle) and thats something you want to avoid during a cut.
