i came to be out of wedlock
awoken in autumn
a Georgia Baptist hospital tag
gripped under my wrist, i left atlantis for drowned
humidity and harnessed a
cross-continental journey in a broken Ford
nestled between the Motor-City and unwelcome suburbia
in a room above burning garbage that forced its illuminated yellow coffers as
love sprang out in shadowed contours leaving me
my brother, born an hour under two
full years apart are we
so distanced
apart from
genetic similarity, the situation is almost comical
our personality preferences disagree
i left the wind to guide my fickle inhibitions
he came
a man of the cloth, almost
and i am a sinner of the utmost he
bored of this concrete jungle
i remain contemplating
the jumbled architecture of a long lost dialect
better then morse code, summoned only when
the add dulls
tried preventing
our combining forces for in full force we
were mighty in the ways of mischief
i remain contemptous
of myself when the fickle winds howl for change
i remain inanimate reliving past days uplifted
while i let my better half shine in defeat
i remain content
knowing that if need be i can summon up that forgotten
childish language, to communicate a message far better
then cans tied to a dirty string
'i remain the same as i was'
would be the only seven words
printed on a tattered birth tag , withered by georgia sun
and tattered under travel weary heels
forged under solitude
i remain forever tucking this small plastic ribbon
into my deepest, deepest pocket
