ya, on both counts

there is a video for it, and its basically a collage of SRV playing the song, and footage of the guitar greats. Its a cool video.

I thought so too, then I thought... Jimi's version was an unfinished studio recording... so I looked for live versions of Jimi's... didn't find one as good as SRV's but, it reminded me that it is indeed still Jimi's song
