Do any of you people do winsor pilates or Pilates in general? If so, how often do you do them? How do you supplement them with your regular exercise program? What have your results been so far? How do you feel about them? All comments would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! :)

I do pilates once or twice a week. I usually do them after my regular cardio (which is about 30-45 minutes). I'm not sure of the results I get only from pilates because I do do other stuff, but i think they are fun.
Its really hard when you first start because you have to get the techniques and the breathing. Then mix it with the moves it can be a challenge. But keep at it cuz one day you'll be doin it and be like wow last week i couldnt do that move. The best part is seeing how you progress.

i do yoga.
kicks my ass every time. so much easier to throw heavy weights around than to contort my body into weird positions and hold them.

Pilates is like yoga. Except it burns a little more because you are flexing your muscles instead of just strecthing.
and that dog in your thing scares me. :guilty:

I do pilates twice a week. I do that in addition to 4 days of cardio & strength training (also do yoga). Pilates is great at working your "core" muscles...your abdominal muscles which help stabilize your whole body. Also great at helping you achieve a lean, sleek look. I noticed a difference within the first 3 weeks I started doing pilates. For a good beginning dvd, I would recommend "Crunch: Pick your spot pilates"...I have never done the windsor tapes, but I have heard they are not very challenging. I have a couple other dvds I use regulary if you're interested.

Thank you soo much for the response! Offthebooks can you please let me know which other dvds you use regularly?
I have the winsor pilates and I'm going to try it out tomorrow after my regular workout. I've recieved some pretty good feedback regarding pilates in general and I'm looking forward to getting into it.

on the ball pilates w/lizbeth garcia (for use w/body ball)
yoga:
yoga shakti w/shiva rea (this one is really good b/c you can customize your own workout w/the yoga poses you like the best)
crunch perfect yoga workout
other:
both cheesy titles, but these are some of the best workout videos I've ever used...
I want that body w/tamilee webb (seperate workouts for abs, arms, butt...beginner & advanced levels)
killer butt w/dolores munoz
if you go on collagevideo.com, you can view trailers for tons of workout videos...great site
hope that helps...when you start doing pilates, you will def feel it in your muscles...make sure your posture is correct...the whole concept of focusing on your "core" is really important

What are the main differences bet. yoga and Pilates? You DO flex your muscles in yoga, staycee, or you're not doing it right..... I love my yoga classes, and so does my boyfriend ;) but hear great things about both.

well they are both closely related...I've even started seeing some hybrid "yogalates" classes...
with yoga you hold poses, pilates you do reps & sometimes hold on the last rep...alot of the poses are similar if not the same (ie. cat stretch)...

Thank you very much! I heard alot of good things about the cruch pilates series and going to check that out as well! I was going to bid on one on ebay today but I totally forgot. I'm just going to try again later this week or order off amazon.
I tried the windsor pilates on Monday and I liked it. It was easy to follow and challenging. I'm going to do it again tomorrow and friday. I am still feeling the effects in my abs.
