Open Mic Skillz Tourney!!

Hope this is cool with the Mods here....


First Round Topical: A topic will be chosen and each emcee will write a verse on that topic. The winners will be chosen by the most votes. Votes should taken in consideration consistancy and staying on the topic, vocabulary, flow, and content.
The winner moves on to the next round...

Second Round Storytelling: It is what it is son, display your story telling skills. The best story will be voted on and the winner decided by the most votes who moves on to the next round...again using the same voting guidelines as the topical...

Third Round Colaboration: Each emcee who has made it to this point can choose to colab with another emcee who has made it to this point or one who has not. If you choose someone who has not made it to the third round and the two of you win then that person will be allowed to compete in the final round. This could be storytelling, topical or battle verse I'lll leave it to you to decide. Votes will determine who will go to the final round.

Final Round Battle Verses: This is where you square off with the other winners up to this point even your colab partner, it's every man/woman for themselves.

If it's cool with the mods it be hot to have an Open Mic Hall of Fame for the best writtens just a suggestion.

For whatever reason I've been having trouble with A.I.M but I'll definitely try to check into this it sounds hot and the roster looks vicious although i'm not familiar with some of those heads. Good looks on the linkage!

In open mic, only the last part really matters. Yes you want consistancy, you want good flow, the vocab up to par & whatnot... But an open mic piece does not require these things.

You sure this is not a verses section tourney? I mean, you can have this anywhere you want (why not in colliseum). My question is if your gonna apply sohh many rules as guide lines to the voting process, then what is sohh open mic about this tourney?

What differentiates this tourney from a verses section tourny?

You should hold this thing over there sohh the open mic section dont get spammed up w/bulls#it.... its the only thing still goin'n right now, plus it could be a boost to the section if this thing turns into what you hope it does.

But I feel what you're saying. But these rules should only apply to the voting so all is fair and there are not hate or dik riding votes. It will still happen most likely but I just don't want people to diss a verse because of the screen name. What I see as somewhat of an outsider to SOHH is catz don't build wit other dudes like that, especially if the person doesn't look like their skills are up to par. This is a community god, and everybody new that comes here wack or hot should be welcomed to help get this ish crackin. If a dude is wack help the muhfuka out give em some pointers and whatnot. On tha for-real the skill level and talent around here is frigging amazing yet highly untapped. The vets are the vets and the scrubs are the scrubs and never the two shall meet. Some other sites I frequent turn out some of the most skilled lyrcist from the most wackest "RAPPERS" out there. I'm just trying to build wit catz that's all... Plus I dig this spot. All aspects of SOHH's Lyrical section needs attention, Verses, Open Mic or whatever, gotta start some where. So I'll see what you can do in the tourney guy. Consider yourself signed....
