Its usually a personal preference, but you should usually follow one rule of thumb; train each muscle group once a week.

This is my current routine:

Sunday: Off

Monday: Chest/Biceps/Abs

Tuesday: Morning Cardio

Wednesday: Back/Triceps/Legs

Thursday: Morning Cardio

Friday: Shoulders/Neck/Abs

Saturday: Morning Cardio

Before you ask why I do Triceps on a different day, its because when you do chest your triceps receive a partial workout so by the time you go to train them on that same day, your not able to FULLY work them. Plus when I lift I try to eliminate the use of my Triceps and focus on using my chest and back to push the weight. Doing them on a different day allows for a complete workout on both heads of the Tricep.

Monday-Weightlifting
Tuesday-Cardio
Wednesday-Weightlifting
Thursday-Cardio
Friday-Weightlifting
Saturday-Off
Sunday-Off

I used to hit my shyt light by doing a hour a day but now I'm doing 3 hours a day. Noticed results in one week already, I feel like a monster.
