but dark side of the moon is probably my favorite rock album. and i like it along with many other non-rap albums much more than illmatic or any other rap album. though illmatic is great.

Illmatic and any rap album would have too many words for me to want to listen to for the rest of my life... or not enough words. I would get sick of having to listen to the same rhymes and loops over and over again. I would need something more musically diverse, like Sign O the Times or Maggot Brain or Electric Ladyland or *****es Brew or Abbey Road or There's a Riot Goin' On or Innervisions or Abraxas or even OK Computer or something like that. :yes:

This is tough, depends on my mood.

Illmatic is definitely not my 'best album of all time' or anything like that, but it's very listenable. There are great albums that I need to be in a certain mood to listen to....Illmatic, because it's SO dynamic...I can listen to at almost anytime.

Illmatic is probably the best hip-hop record ever made. The only rock records I would think about other that would probably be Dark Side of the Moon, In Utero, Nevermind, Mellon Collie, Zepplin IV, or like Ten.

I go with hip-hop, though. I'm a black kid from the hood, I gotta hear somethin' that reminds me of the hood, if I aint never gonna see it again.

Whatever *****. This aint about hip hop, it's about Illmatic. Some *****s aint sweatin Illmatic that hard so they would obviously pick their favorite rock album first.

It is about hip-hop, because Illmatic is the only rap option. If you don't take Illmatic, you'll never hear hip-hop again. If you don't take the rock record, you'll never hear rock again. Like I said, given that choice, I gotta go with the streets, because I'll never see em again if I'm on like a deserted Island with only 1 album to choose from.

My favorite rock album is Axis Bold As Love and it is by far and away better than illmatic.
