whats the difference between capsule form and tea bag form?

I brew it fresh nightly from loose tea. Cant drink it in the a.m., it upsets my stomach.
It definately makes me more alert, but not in a jittery cracked-out way (I can go to sleep after); hot liquids in general are gonna help with digestion and it is high in antioxidants.
But I dont think of it as a miracle food that "works wonders," I dont expect changes, its just something I do b/c it is good for me and tastes good, like drinking lots of water.
The Japanese diet is also generally higher in seafood and vegetables, and lower in junk food, so I dont think you can attribute low cancer rates solely to green tea.

Have you tried Jasmine Green tea? (http://www.enjoyingtea.com/jasgreentea.html) It's sweeter.
whats the difference between capsule form and tea bag form?
No difference really. Just depends on the type of delivery system you want. I take capsule cuz I don't like drinking tea. I also don't have time to sit down and enjoy a cup of tea in the morning so capsule works out best.

Today, scientific research in both Asia and the west is providing hard evidence for the health benefits long associated with drinking green tea. For example, in 1994 the Journal of the National Cancer Institute published the results of an epidemiological study indicating that drinking green tea reduced the risk of esophageal cancer in Chinese men and women by nearly sixty percent. University of Purdue researchers recently concluded that a compound in green tea inhibits the growth of cancer cells. There is also research indicating that drinking green tea lowers total cholesterol levels, as well as improving the ratio of good (HDL) cholesterol to bad (LDL) cholesterol.
To sum up, here are just a few medical conditions in which drinking green tea is reputed to be helpful:
* cancer
* rheumatoid arthritis
* high cholesterol levels
* cariovascular disease
* infection
*
impaired immune function
The secret of green tea lies in the fact it is rich in catechin polyphenols, particularly epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). EGCG is a powerful anti-oxidant: besides inhibiting the growth of cancer cells, it kills cancer cells without harming healthy tissue. It has also been effective in lowering LDL cholesterol levels, and inhibiting the abnormal formation of blood clots. The latter takes on added importance when you consider that thrombosis (the formation of abnormal blood clots) is the leading cause of heart attacks and stroke.
http://chinesefood.about.com/library/weekly/aa011400a.htm
Green tea contains high concentrations of catechin polyphenols. These compounds work with other chemicals to intensify levels of fat oxidation and thermogenesis, where heat is created in the body by burning fuels such as fat. Drinking Japanese green tea regularly will increase your metabolism and help burn fat safely and naturally.
Weight is gained as excess sugars and fats are stored in the body as fat cells. Green tea catechins can help prevent obesity by inhibiting the movement of glucose in fat cells. Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) has been found to be especially effective. There is now good evidence that green tea catechins are related to reductions in body fat.
EGCG is a powerful antioxidant with positive qualities but a balanced diet and exercise, lots of it, are of paramount importance to any weight reduction program.

Logic drinks it it out of an oversized tea mug 1 tea per day(green tea expensive) but this info from one of links Logic already posted
There are as many answers to this question as there are researchers investigating the natural properties of green tea. For example, Herbs for Health magazine cites a Japanese report stating that men who drank ten cups of green tea per day stayed cancer-free for three years longer than men who drank less than three cups a day (there are approximately 240 - 320 mg of polyphenols in three cups of green tea). Meanwhile, a study by Cleveland's Western Reserve University concluded that drinking four or more cups of green tea per day could help prevent rheumatoid arthritis, or reduce symptoms in individuals already suffering from the disease. And Japanese scientists at the Saitama Cancer Research Institute discovered that there were fewer recurrances of breast cancer, and the disease spread less quickly, in women with a history of drinking five cups or more of green tea daily.
It gets more confusing. A University of California study on the cancer-preventative qualities of green tea concluded that you could probably attain the desired level of polyphenols by drinking merely two cups per day. On the other hand, a company selling a green tea capsule formula insists that ten cups per day are necessary to reap the maximum benefits.

I drink Green Tea on a daily basis and I love it!!
It doesn't make u lose weight (at least it hasn't done that to me or anybody i kno who drinks it)
One of the main reason why I drink it is I have a problem of getting re-current bacterial infection and green tea cleans out your system (basically bacteria building up in the digestive system and in the whole body in general), I have gotten significantly less bacterial infections since I started drink it regularly and the symptoms do not get too bad (I don't have to go to the doctor for antibiotics).
More information:
Active constituents: Green tea contains volatile oils, vitamins, minerals, and caffeine, but the primary constituents of interest are the polyphenols, particularly the catechin called epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). The polyphenols are believed to be responsible for most of green tea’s roles in promoting good health.1
Green tea has been shown to mildly lower total cholesterol levels and improve the cholesterol profile (decreasing LDL “bad” cholesterol and increasing HDL “good” cholesterol) in most,2 3 4 5 but not all,6 studies. Green tea may also promote cardiovascular health by making platelets in the blood less sticky.
Green tea has also been shown to protect against damage to LDL (“bad”) cholesterol caused by oxygen.7 Consumption of green tea increases antioxidant activity in the blood.8 Oxidative damage to LDL can promote atherosclerosis. While population studies have suggested that consumption of green tea is associated with protection against atherosclerosis,9 the evidence is still preliminary.
Several animal and test tube studies have demonstrated an anticancer effect of polyphenols from green tea.10 11 12 In one of these studies, a polyphenol called catechin from green tea effectively inhibited metastasis (uncontrolled spread) of melanoma (skin cancer) cells.13 The polyphenols in green tea have also been associated with reduced risk of several types of cancer in humans.14 15 16 However, some human studies have found no association between green tea consumption and decreased cancer risk.17 18
In a double-blind trial, people with leukoplakia (a pre-cancerous oral condition) took 3 grams orally per day of a mixture of whole green tea, green tea polyphenols, and green tea pigments orally, and also painted a mixture of the tea on their lesions three times daily for six months.19 As compared to the placebo group, those in the green tea group had significant decreases in the pre-cancerous condition.
Compounds in green tea, as well as black tea, may reduce the risk of dental caries.20 Human volunteers rinsing with an alcohol extract of oolong tea leaves before bed each night for four days had significantly less plaque formation, but similar amounts of plaque-causing bacteria, compared to those with no treatment.21
Green tea polyphenols have been shown to stimulate the production of several immune system cells, and have topical antibacterial properties—even against the bacteria that cause dental plaque.22 23 24
One study found that intake of 10 cups or more of green tea per day improved blood test results, indicating protection against liver damage.25 Further studies are needed to determine if taking green tea helps those with liver diseases.
Tea flavonoids given by capsule reduced fecal odor and favorably altered the gut bacteria in elderly Japanese with feeding tubes living in nursing homes.26 The study was repeated in bedridden elderly not on feeding tubes, and green tea was again shown to improve their gut bacteria.27 These studies raise the possibility of using green tea in other settings where gut bacteria are disturbed, such as after taking antibiotics. Further studies are needed to clarify the role of green tea in this respect, however.

I tried this based on your mention of it & it was very good...
for folks who are strictly drinking bottled green tea drinks, remember most of these drinks are little more than a combo of sugar & water...some of them have as many calories as a can of soda & offer very little (if any) of the antioxidant benefits that come from fresh brewed green tea.

FUZE Green Tea is a light and refreshing green tea beverage that contains the same antioxidant capacity as 3 servings of vegetables (measured using ORAC). Aside from this, FUZE Green Tea is an extremely refreshing and easy to drink beverage. The flavor is mild and doesn't have that green tea aftertaste that green tea typically has. Instead, there is a light, but sweet base of green tea with hints of honey.

I have read various studies on this...the amount of green tea that people typically drink is not even close to bringing in enough flouride to reach toxic levels.
