that's cool but dumbell curls aren't very important lifts. work on setting personal records for squats deads bench press.

c/s. curls(BB, DB and machines) are important for bicep muscle growth of course, but you shouldn't put so much emphasis on them as far as setting PRs and stuff.

Why are'nt they? Your talking nonsense and if you were up to date, you'd check the gym check in.

He's not saying they aren't important, per se, but for PRs, you may want to do exercises that hit multiple parts of the body so more of the body can benefit. Biceps curls are cool, but for the most part, they only hit the biceps (sometimes the forearms).

Again, check the gym check in thread. What yall don't get is that it's a personal goal of mine. I did'nt rep it max 1 time for a overall figure on how strong I am. I will max out on military presses also very soon for the same reason, personal.

lol.. are you that same " i don't use protein shakes cause they are cheating fool"? Keep doing what you're doing man. Not saying you won't make gains. I'm saying that by applying some common sense to your training you'd see far better gains. whatever.

curl maxes arent very important in getting big and being strong.sure u might have strong biceps but curls only hit build ur biceps nothing else therefore setting bicep curl goals shouldnt be that important.

if u really want to get big set a goal in the deadlift, squat and bench press.if u can get the poundages in those lifts up there u will be a big dude.no question.

My coach told me that curls will help you increase muscle mass/weight gain and I know for a fact it helps you faster (track sprinters work them alot).

I don't max, I can rep 115 about 8 times though (thats two 45lb plates on each side and an 25lb olympic bar). I've done more than that before, but thats what I've been sticking to lately.

lol My coach told me that curling is for puccys who want to showoff after a touchdown and not to do them but I don't give a fukk. My gym teacher who curled 225lbs inspired me to try to reach 225lbs. I remember he curled 135lbs 10x and set a challenge to the whole class that if you can curl it 10x like him he'll let you sit out of swim class for one day. One dude did it 3x another 1x me 0x lol. Ever since then, that challenge stuck to me so I won't be satisfied until I reach it.

different strokes for different folks. i learned that alot while weightlifting. What one person thinks is useless another thinks it's necessary.

I think it was 135 I curled, I did it about 4x's but now I go down. I wanted to get close to 225 one day, but now I'll probably just stick to trying to curl 135 10x's like your coach.

I usually never worked my biceps, only a couple of sets a week because I was told that they aren't really necessary. But I do know that sprinter work them for a reason, so i'll work mines too...

lol@biceps arent necessary..

dam yall should fire or slap whoever is tellin you this shyt..forreal lol

I mean sure for shyt like football its not THAT important (certain positions especially)...and its not the most important area to work as far as strength..but you should work your biceps if you're gonna work everything else...if not for strenght in that area...do it for the LOOk so your fukkin arms dont look strange with ya big azz chest and shoulders pokin out lol...lopsided lookin muhfukkas are the ones that ignore certain muscle groups...

...even if u liftin for the females..most females say chest and arms/biceps are what they're are attracted to on muscular builds...i aint gonna lie...i lift PURELY for the look and the stock it gives me with the females...i've always been able get females..but once i got my muscle game up....its been a WRAP, lol...fuk a sport...i do that on xbox360 and tv, lol...my basketball days have been done for awhile....i like the look and i like the looks i get from females with it...period

...sidenote...if u box...and u dont do bicep excersizes...u will be a sorry muthafukka....strong hooks and uppercuts come from strong biceps and back muscles

Your arms won't look that...bad. I mean the triceps make up most of the "look" for the arms does'nt it. (well not in my case lol) What started me lifting was females, but fukk them. They did'nt like me the videogame 24/7 loving nerd now they all on my dikk cuz I'm a lil built, fukk them. The compliments are nice tho.

yea triceps are a big part too...but i dont know..i personally like the cut look of biceps...i like that look of your biceps "knotting" up as you bend your arm...lotta females go crazy over that shyt...and if you're into sports such as boxing...its very important to work the biceps.

And yea..it can really look that bad for some peeps...i know this guy who only works his shoulders and chest area....no arm excersizes....lemme tell you....he's the most akward strong muthafukka i've ever seen in my life lol...his arms just look...weird...and his forearms are crazy small...when they are like that and your chest is pokin out...dat shyt looks foolish lol...

I just dont understand...why not look complete with your physical look? Every muscle group in your body is important...i was always taught that...u should always maximize every muscle group or atleast try to if you're doing any serious lifting...not doing so could lead to injuries and lead to akward shape...

for example...if you do alot of benching...but dont work the shoulders or isolate them on a different workout day...it could fuk up your posture and leave u with a "huntchback" look.....
