Black Stroke

It always seems the closer that I get to shore
That a crashing wave always drives me back
I take in water I grasp for air I began to drown
Then the quest is pointless really starts to sink in
How easy it would be for me to comply and link
Why battle the strong currents obviously it is futile
Just give in accept your faith and become shark bait
But then the inner me starts to battle starts to paddle
While treading I regain my breath and my resolve
I do not want to be like the others is enough if not all
So I brace myself and I prepare for the waves
Refusing to stay under nor withdraw I am persistent
I keep my stroke and will continue to until I reach the shore
Like all of the others who want to achieve their own niche
I am being pushed out to sea again treading for da tide now
