and it's in february of all the months
right after christmas and new years
brother be tryin' to financially regroup
plus you know you be all tuckered out
broke and tired equals black history yall
it's usually too cold to do much of anything
did i mention that it's also the shortest month
twenty-eight whole days to honor and praise
kingdoms like Askum,Zimbabwee and Sundiata
people like Mansa Musa,Sonni Ali,Robert Smalls,
Harriet Jacobs, Martin Robinson Delany and Willliam Wells Brown.
ain't it kool being the only race to have a month to be proud of their heritage
i mean no other race has one whole month to be proud of their lineage
we are the only ones, we are the only ones, one whole month
i guess that the other races are envious of our black history month
yeah and maybe they going to demand that they have a history month too
just think about it we are going to be proud for one whole month
thinking about the great deeds that were done by black people
of course after the month is over I'll break in yo crib
and take everything that's not nailed down you know
but for twenty-eight days lets just be kool and be proud

see what i'm saying is to be proud of your heritage(whatever it is) for 365 days not just 28. Instead of us settling for the "short end of the stick". How in da hell u gonna give me 28 days to be proud of my people.
