You are missing a couple of screws in your head. Smart move by not answering the question.

No, but he didn't ask for only alternative artists. He said top 10. Keep it moving.

29 will be out december 20th, but is online right now (probably best record of the year, hands down, any genre imho). bloc party was early '05 and the go! team was released in the u.s. in october '05 (sample clearence issues).

I'll attempt this if I can think of 10
1. Sufjan Stevens - Illinois
2. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah - Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
3. Bright Eyes - I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning
4. Decemberists - Picaresque
5. Broken Social Scene - Broken Social Scene
6. The Go! Team - Thunder, Lightning, Strike
7. Ryan Adams - Cold Roses
8. Stars - Set Yourself On Fire
9. The Magic Numbers - The Magic Numbers
This is all I can really think of, Antony and the Johnsons was pretty cool as was the Andrew Bird album and Queens of the Stone Age. When was the Joanna Newsom album? If that was 2005 put that at 10.

This dork ass motherf*cker was quite disappointed by the beck album. Around the beginning of the year I would of expected it to make my list but then again I would of expected the weezer to also...
How about Beck you dork-ass motherf*ckers?
It was a step back in the right direction for him. But, I don't think I'd place it in my top 25.

The Mars Volta- Frances The Mute
Bloc Party- Silent Alarm
Bloc Party- Silent Alarm Re-mixed
Pelican- The Fire In Our Throats Will Beckon The Thaw
Neil Young- Prairie Wind
Arcade Fire- Funeral (I know this was last year but I still dig it)
Beyond that therre was a lot of hit and miss sh!t. The NIN got old fast. System was a walking abortion this year. Beck was catchy but slim. Queens was dead on arrival. Depeche Mode and New Order dropped the most half assed albums of their careers.

I think the Arcade Fire was last year. Yeah, I absolutely love the Hot Chip album. Crap Kraft Dinner is one of the better songs I've heard in a long time.

Nope. I haven't caught the live. Honestly, I wouldn't expect the album to translate that well live. There is a lot going on.

It was late 2004 so I think we can count them for this year. They're nominated for this years Grammy's.

wtf? god damn the man. Well there goes their indie cred. Funeral is my favorite album released this decade along with Kid A.
Anywho, the year of release does not have to do with you being nominated for a grammy (see: Greenday)
Also, Im bumping Beauty & The beat and putting "Alligator" on my sh1ts.

I always go through stages with Alligator. I'll end up listening to it over and over. Then I won't be able to stand it.
The Jens Lekman is making a strong case.

Ya, sometimes alligator comes of as really unoriginal in how ist presented, but his sh1ts sincere, and I like that. Plus I like the guitar mucho mucho. But really its just nice to hear some downtrodden voice when its as nasty and drab as it is today (im in MI).
And ya, Jens is that sh1t. Funniest man making music. But the hilarious thing is you don't even notice his humor because the actual instrumentation and the arrangements are just rediculous 95% of the time, so you don't here him talk about half off the swedish non-sense that he does.
