I have never used these things, and I hope not to.
1) I really don't enjoy lifting. I've tried it on and off for years, and it doesn't relieve much stress. It does help with derpression though. But I started lifting to gain mass. I gained 30 pounds in two years (I was 135 at 18 and I'm 165 at 20). Basically, it won't be neccesarry cause I may be done with serious lifting.
2) MOST IMPORTANTLY, I'm pretty sure these things cause long term damage to your body/organs. I know creatine does. And there are some reports that a high protein diets increase your chance of getting cancer. I haven't done much research beyond that, but common sense tells me that these thigns aren't good.
BUT why would you needs these products in the first place. People who get big in jail don't use them, so why would we need them? I understand people in jail lift a lot more, but how many hours are they lifting? Damn!

*shakes head* @ this misinformed individual. My only advice to you is go do some research before you come to such conclusions buddy.
There are no SOLID studies that have linked any of those NATURAL supplements to the claims you make. There are way too many variables that go into developing diseases and other bodily harm. Unless your f*ckin with roids and PH's there really is no real chance of you developing something down the line. Now this doesn't mean you can ABUSE any supplement; over-consumption of certain supplements can have a detrimental effect, but once again this is due to ignorance.
Also keep in mind that if what your saying is true, then all the foods we eat will also give us cancer; example: Beef/steak has a high concentration of Creatine. Also keep in mind that people who are morbidly obese or overweight consume WAY more protein than a bodybuilder/athlete in large quantities. IE: Eating a 20 oz. Porterhouse smothered in A1 sauce with mashed potatoes, pasta, and then desert.
Bottom line is this: Too much of anything is bad.

I don't use that crap, I'm only 18 benching 275lbs so I'm pretty sure by 22 I'll be at my goal of benching 400lbs. All natural baby.
My eating habits are crap also, like 3 or 4 20 oz pop a day, fast food, popcorn, hashbrowns, wheat bread, and oatmeal is what I eat daily but I'm only 195lbs at 6'. I do need to lose like 15lbs...

oh, I never thought of that situation.
At school, you see mutha****as ODing on their protein supplements, and Im just wondering if it's worth it, or if that's gonna be bad in the long run. Like ya'll said, too much of anythng is bad.
Big H as for the notion of overweight ppl taking in more protein, Im not sure if that is the case. Powerlifters and weightlifters seem to pick meals that are heavy in protein in addition to taking whey and eating bars. So I'd think those that just eat whatever are not getting as much portein as you, or even as much as they should be gettoing.
My main problem is that I don't balance flexibility and endurance with strength and mass gaining. I rather just have a decent amount of strength with great flexibility, so heavy and serious lifting are becoming less and less important to me. Im not huge (not at all), but I have strength and Im have muscle, that's enough for a 20 year old Im guessing. I'll see what I do when i get to school in January.

But combined with the other sh*t they usually eat it causes them to develop cancer and other diseases in the long run. Knowing how to combine your foods is an important step in living healthy. But my point is that protein alone will not cause serious health problems.
Also by lifting and training hard your body will NEED an excess of certain nutrients. This is why sedentary people who take excessive protein or other supplements without proper exercise will either gain weight or suffer serious health problems down the line.
Don't let the doings of a few idiots (ex: Ephedra) be the only thing your basing your decision on. Do some REAL research and then you'll see what I'm talking about. People who make claims or conduct studies like this do so with an agenda; it truly isn't a double blind test.
I take creatine on and off. i take protein shakes because it's hard for me to gain weight and I combine it (or used to) with high protein foods. Now I take shakes more because I can't eat enough high protein foods. I take as much as instructed...
I got to get to benching atleast 360 and squating 600 before i walk on to college, so I got a little ways to go.

all natural = never haven taken steroids or steroid pre-cursors. Taking two scoops of something that I can get from eating 3 8oz steaks is not unnatural, it's practical.
As far as prison goes, if you can smuggle recreational drugs in there, what makes you think you cant get gear? And all they do is lift, work, eat, eat some more and sleep.... ideal for getting jacked up.
Creatine? Guess what, you have it in your body right now. Protein? You take that everyday too. How is that not natural again? Refusing to take certain supplements because you think they arent natural doesn't show anything except a lack of knowledge.
