it's my personal favorite of the Jimi albums, if Buddy Miles had just played his position that band would have been Jimi's greatest.. I have the rehearsals* too, they played some songs that didn't even get played at the fillmore... come to think of it I think I have the BOG Studio album, Rehearsals, and the Live at the Fillmore East albums, and the DVD... yeah, it's my personal favorite Jimi album

What jimi was doing right before he od'd was some rock-blues fusion no one had ever fukked w/ before. he had tried w/ the experience and only produced so-so results. w/ them his best sh1t was good pop music (which isn't a bad thing), but with these guys it was a full sound of just old blues but w/ a "jimi" twist. with that said, it is my second favorite album after axis: bold as love. I fukkin hate drugs sometimes man...

had Jimi stuck with that band (and gawddamnit buddy guy) if Buddy woulda just played the drums and thats it... and if they would have added an organ player, the Band of Gypsies would have been a legitimate* candidate for the greatest band of all time.. I felt like Band of Gypsies just needed someone on the B3, not even all the time... just here and there...
